Colin’s joined by Jason Timpf, host of “Hoops Tonight” to break down the play-in games and preview the NBA playoffs!
They start with the Warriors surviving the Grizzlies in the play-in game, why their lack of size and supporting cast could prove to be their Achilles heel in the postseason, and why the Rockets could prove to be a tough matchup for Golden State (3:00).
They pivot to Lakers vs. Timberwolves, why facing the Lakers is the worst case scenario for the Wolves, and why the trio of Luka, LeBron and Reeves will overwhelm Minnesota (12:45).
Colin explains why he doesn’t buy the Clippers late season run and why he doesn’t see any chance Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets get bounced in the first round of the playoffs (23:45).
They discuss why the Nuggets quitting on defense is what led to the firing of head coach Michael Malone (28:45) and debate whether Jokic is the greatest big to ever play the game (32:30).
They break down the OKC Thunder’s historic point differential in the regular season, why that might not translate into postseason success and why their young roster could struggle in the playoffs (46:00).
Finally, Colin compares the Celtics to the Spurs dynasty of the past and why he thinks they’re clearly the best team, but Jason offers one caveat (53:00).
