283. MRV: Did You Hear What Lamar Jackson Said About Rashod Bateman? May 26, 2023

Show notes

If you weren’t paying attention, you may have missed a short, but BOLD statement Lamar Jackson made about Rashod Bateman when he met with the media Wednesday.

With so many eyes on Todd Monken’s new offense, many didn’t catch what No. 8 said and what it could mean for the Ravens receiver corps. In fact, there were also two other news items that flew under the radar, but could each have a big impact going forward. All of that will be addressed in topic one.

On this edition of the Vault, Sarah & Bobby dive into that and more:

Former Raven Tony Jefferson's next chapter after football
Dan Orlovsky list of QBs (top-five) under most pressure entering '23
Nelson Agholor's compelling response to where Baltimore's offense can go

281. MRV: No More Handcuffs! | Lamar Jackson Finally Has Free Will Leading Ravens May 25, 2023

Show notes

It’s safe to say that new Ravens’ offensive coordinator Todd Monken has left an awfully good first impression here in the early going as Baltimore begins installing his new scheme.

And from the looks of it…Lamar Jackson is among those in-house to have been left impressed. Perhaps that’s because he’s apparently been handed the keys to Monken’s offense.

On this edition of the Vault, Sarah & Bobby dive into that and more:

News & notes from Wednesday's OTA session, including attendance
Marcus Peters' new message
Ravens' d-line depth signing

280. MRV: Lamar Jackson Did This To SHUT DOWN Whiners May 24, 2023

Show notes

It’s time to put the Lamar Jackson offseason drama behind us now that he’s signed his long-term deal and officially arrived at the Ravens facility for the first week of organized team activities (OTAs).

All the drama and whining should be shut down, even if it’s temporarily, and we can begin to shift our focus to actual football. So that’s what we’ll do in this episode… as Sarah outlines four benefits of Lamar being present at OTAs, while John Harbaugh outlines how he’ll ease LJ into the new offense.

On this edition of the Vault, Sarah & Bobby dive into that and more:

Chuck Clark sounds off on Ravens
John Harbaugh speaks on LJ's OTA game plan
Herm Edwards weighs in on LJ
Revisiting Baltimore's strength & conditioning woes with past, present Ravens

Show notes

The Ravens had their first voluntary organized team activity Monday, and several veterans were in attendance. We’ll take you through the list of who practiced, and who didn’t.

And while Lamar Jackson wasn’t there, two more reports emerged corroborating what our source told us about his plans for the week.

On this edition of the Vault, Sarah & Bobby dive into that and more:

DeAndre Hopkins opens up about possibility of playing with LJ
D-Hop's top-five quarterbacks

278. MRV: SOURCE | INSIDE SCOOP On Lamar Jackson Ahead of Ravens’ OTAs May 22, 2023

Show notes

The first official day of organized team activities in Baltimore has finally arrived and as I learned over the weekend, Lamar Jackson is expected to be in attendance.

Which should quiet some of the angst from local media who took aim at No. 8 for not showing up to the Ravens’ voluntary football the last two weeks. More on all of that just ahead.

On this edition of the Vault, Sarah & Bobby dive into that and more:

277. MRV: Ravens’ New Play-Caller Just Earned SIGNIFICANTLY HIGH PRAISE May 19, 2023

Show notes

Don’t look now, but Todd Monken is already garnering the ultimate praise as far as offensive coordinators go in Baltimore.

One local columnist is already comparing Monken to the beloved Gary Kubiak, claiming the Ravens’ new play-caller has a commanding presence at practice the way Kubiak once did, and stole the show this week.

On this edition of the Vault, Sarah & Bobby dive into that and more:

Joint practices are back & returning this summer
Wink Martindale's cameo in Giants' viral video
Nelson Agholor surfaces in south Florida with...LJ8

276. MRV: Ravens' Legend Terrell Suggs, Steve Bisciotti DENY THIS Request May 18, 2023

Show notes

Even though Ravens legend Terrell Suggs hasn’t officially retired from the NFL – despite being out of the league since 2019 – he’s still got plenty of cachet in Baltimore, and deservingly so.

So much so…T-Sizzle was seemingly given permission by team owner Steve Bisciotti to deny David Ojabo’s request to switch to his No. 55 jersey!

On this edition of the Vault, Sarah & Bobby dive into that and more:

Mike Macdonald's early observations on Ojabo
Roquan Smith's 'paper champs' one-liner, STRONG message

275. MRV: Pacman Jones Throws SHADE At Ravens WR Rashod Bateman May 17, 2023

Show notes

Former Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones threw shade at wide receiver Rashod Bateman, and proposed a ridiculous solution to shutting down the offense.

We’ll dive into what Pacman got wrong, and rank Baltimore's upgraded WR crew among the NFL and AFC North.

On this edition of the Vault, Sarah & Bobby dive into that and more:

274. MRV: NEW Update On Marcus Peters’ FUTURE With Ravens May 16, 2023

Show notes

For the first time, publicly, since he became available at the start of free agency in March, former Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters has generated some interest.

According to The Athletic, Juiceman had an official visit with the Vegas Raiders on Monday. But what does an actual player visit mean? More on that just ahead.

On this edition of the Vault, Sarah & Bobby dive into that and more:
