She licked the blood off her hand like a cat, but not like the kind of cat who cares about its hygiene, like a vampire cat, a dark shadow of a cat who appears at midnight every Halloween to ruin your holiday travel. And who else is there? What ghostly figure lingers in the doorway of our nighttime travels? Is it you, Delta? Did being the subject of a classic John Mulaney joke teach you nothing, Delta? Must I be your victim now, you insatiable, terrible, money-mongering, faceless entity with which I have amassed almost 50,000 sky miles over recent years?! HUH DELTA?!
