    The Unbroken Podcast

I am a survivor of Familial sex trafficking, and I am sharing my story here in hopes that it can help to spread awareness. I want to bring so much change and I am hoping that listening to my podcast can help other people to be more aware of the signs. I hope it can help other victims to be more aware of what it is they are a victim of. I spent 26 years of my life not even knowing what was truly happening to me. I am making it my life’s work to not only save victims but to continue support for survivors. And the only way I know how to do that is by using my voice and sharing my story. 24. My Custody Battle Oct 12, 2021
    Show notes

Eventually I realized that I was fighting the system that I was trafficked to. And it was an uphill battle that I was never going to win. I did what I had to do to ensure my daughters were safe. But eventually I had to give up the fight. This problem is not just a problem that I personally go through but so many victims of domestic violence and sex trafficking do. But if we're not talking about it people are never going to know that it's happening and there will be no way to fix the system. No survivor should look up at a judge and see a formal client. No survivor should lose custody of their children to their abuser. We need to fix the systems so they protect the victims and not the abusers.

    23. My Previous Marriage Oct 11, 2021
    Show notes

from day one our relationship was toxic. I tried to leave so many times, but I was never able to. And there were so many things that made me stay period from being able to make excuses for why it was happening or being more terrified of going back home to my parents’ house there was always something that made me stay. I thought the wedding would change everything. But of course, it did not. I learned a lot of lessons with that marriage. And I'm glad I made it out alive. Because so many don't.

    22. My ex Oct 04, 2021
    Show notes

That night was not the first time that this ever happened. But it was the last. And I think one of the most difficult things is looking over the life that me and him shared there were hundreds of people that witnessed the abuse and did nothing. It again was something that I needed to save myself from. And while I started going to the support groups to start to talk about him I ended up talking about my parents instead. Because of that night I found the strength to ultimately start to see through all the psychological abuse that I was going through with my parents and started to realize that nothing in my life was normal.

    21. My Thoughts Sep 29, 2021
    Show notes

After the sex trafficking decisions became this wild thing for me. While I was in the life I just did his told but now I have to think about 1000 different questions just to figure out if I am making the right decision. I have to think about every whatif and every single thing that could potentially go wrong. That's the stuff that people don't talk about and that people don't prepare you for.

    20. Cyberbullying and Cyberstalking Sep 21, 2021
    Show notes

From the cyber bullying to discovering the family secret this summer was just information overload for me. And I needed to learn how to admit that I was having some problems. And I found out who to reach out to for help and in the end I was able to pull myself back together. So to anyone that is being cyberbullied or cyber stalked please look at the information in the length that I have included below. I don't want anyone to feel like they're going through it alone the way that I had.

    19. My Addiction Sep 20, 2021
    Show notes

Addiction is treated like a one size fits all problem and it is everything but that. And I hope that opening up about my struggles can maybe get people talking about ways that we can help survivors and victims of sex trafficking I am battling their addiction because it can be quite different and it may be hard for them to reach out for help about it. We need change in so many areas and if we're going to end sex trafficking and spread awareness I definitely believe that this is a topic that we also need to address.

    18. My Charges Sep 20, 2021
    Show notes

Looking back, I am very proud at the decisions that I made at such a young age. I know that I would always have regretted it if I had made any other choice. And now I look back and think about how much strength that decision took to make, and I use that constantly remind myself of exactly how strong I can be. And I'm learning that you can never be ashamed of doing right by you.

    17. The Noise Sep 20, 2021
    Show notes

To truly put an end to sex trafficking we have to not only look at things through the eyes of the victim but also think about how the things that we are doing can benefit the sex trafficker. We already give out so much more information then we want to without even knowing it. I'm hoping that this episode can open people's minds so they start to realize exactly how we can end sex trafficking. I don't have all the answers. But maybe if we come together as a society we can obtain those answers together.

    16. My Home Sep 20, 2021
    Show notes

Looking back as I sat in judge’s chambers asking the judge to believe me I still cannot believe that he did. It was the first time I was ever validated. That judge gave me my life and he made it so that way I could always enjoy every moment that I have spent. No matter where me and my family end up we will always have a home together. And that judge made sure of it. They have tried to knock me down and tried to scare me more than anything in this world but it has never worked and it never will. I am not a victim running. I am a survivor flying away.
