Season 16, Episode 87 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the latest news concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers and their rebuilt coaching staff that is being assembled under new HC Mike McCarthy.

While none of the coaching staff hires have been made official by the team, several seem destined to happen at this point. Alex and I go over the news concerning the hirings or interviews of Lunda Wells, Scott Tolzien, Ramon Chinyoung, Adam Henry, James Campen, Jahri Evans, Jason Simmons, and Patrick Graham, who will reportedly be the team's new defensive coordinator.

Alex and I also address the news that the Steelers will reportedly retain Tom Arth, Scott McCurley, and Gerald Alexander from the 2025 coaching staff.

We move on to discuss the future of QB Aaron Rodgers related to numerous members of the reported new coaching staff in Pittsburgh. We also address the numerous links back to McCarthy when it comes to his perceived staff hirings as of Friday morning.

With Graham set to become the Steelers’ new defensive coordinator, Alex and I do a deep dive into his coaching career. We talk a lot about his defensive roots, his schemes, his tendencies and much more. We go over his fit in Pittsburgh and his most recent job as the DC with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Steelers have a new wide receiver on their roster as of Thursday, so Alex and I quickly go over the signing of WR A. T. Perry and what traits he brings to Pittsburgh.

Steelers AGM Andy Weidl did not get the general manager job with the Atlanta Falcons, so we discuss that bit of news during this show.

McCarthy was a guest on WDVE Radio on Friday morning, so Alex and I discuss the main talking points that came out of that 15-minute interview.

Season 16, Episode 86 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers introducing Mike McCarthy as the team's new head coach during a Tuesday press conference.

Alex and I parse a lot of what McCarthy had to say during his Tuesday press conference. We discuss in-depth what McCarthy had to say about QB Aaron Rodgers possibly returning in 2026 in addition to his thoughts on second-year QB Will Howard as well. We discuss whether either of us are hoping for Rodgers to return in 2026. We discuss the expected/hoped for timeline when it comes to the Rodgers' decision for 2026.

Not very many current Steelers players were present for the Tuesday McCarthy press conference, so Alex and I discuss that topic a little bit during this episode as well.

With Chris Shula and Nate Scheelhaase both looking like they might not land head coaching jobs this offseason, and thus staying with the Los Angeles Rams, Alex and I discuss the way that looks when it comes to Steelers deciding to bypass on both for their head coach vacancy.

It sounds like the Steelers won't lose AGM Andy Weidl to the Atlanta Falcons this offseason, so Alex and I discuss that new development that happened on Tuesday.

During this show, the Cleveland Browns announced that Todd Monken will be their new head coach so obviously Alex and I discuss that breaking news. We also discuss how Browns DC Jim Schwartz might not take too kindly of him being passed over for the position.

Former New England Patriots HC Bill Belichick won't be a first-ballot Hall of Famer this year, so Alex and I discuss his snubbing. We also discuss how the Belichick news might further help the late L.C. Greenwood when it comes to his chances of finally getting into the Hall of Fame this year.

As of Wednesday morning, we know several Steelers' candidates that are being interviewed for coaching staff spots, so we bring everyone up to date on that list of people. Later in this show, Alex and I pass along the breaking news of Adam Henry being hired by the Steelers to be the team's new wide receivers coach.

Steelers Team President Art Rooney II talked to Bob Labriola over the weekend about the hiring of Mike McCarthy to be the team's new head coach, so Alex and I make sure to parse all of his comments on the subject. Alex and I also discuss the Steelers' process of hiring a new head coach and whether or not it was McCarthy's job to have the moment that Mike Tomlin decided to resign.

Alex and I discuss the development of the next franchise quarterback being the primary focus now and whether we'll see QB Aaron Rodgers back in Pittsburgh in 2026. We discuss whether the Steelers could possibly look at acquiring a quarterback such as Mac Jones or Malik Willis by this year’s draft in hopes of turning either into the NFL's next Sam Darnold.

Former Steelers OC Arthur Smith will be the next offensive coordinator for Ohio State so that bit of news gets our attention during this show. Alex and I also further discuss what the Steelers rebuilt coaching staff could look like with McCarthy now installed as the team's new head coach.
