The Terrible Podcast — Steelers Vs. Eagles Preview, Thursday Injury Report, Coordinator Comments, Listener Emails & More Dec 13, 2024
    Show notes

    December 13, 2024 -

Season 15, Episode 64 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they continue to prepare to play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday on the road.

We go over the Steelers' Thursday injury report and highlight the fact that the team might not have S DeShon Elliott and DT Larry Ogunjobi on Sunday in addition to being without WR George Pickens. We discuss whether the team might decide to elevate S Eric Rowe from the practice squad on Saturday in addition to activating DT Montravius Adam from the Reserve/Injured list.

The Eagles are in good shape from a health standpoint, and we quickly go over their Thursday injury report as well.

Steelers’ coordinators Arthur Smith and Teryl Austin both held their weekly media sessions on Thursday, so Alex and I parse the meaningful things that each had to see during their sessions.

Midway through the Friday show, Alex and I are joined by Zach Berman, who covers the Eagles for All Phly. Zach helps us preview Sunday's matchup in Philadelphia between the Eagles and the Steelers. We get Zach to address the recent turmoil with the Eagles before talking more about the team on the offensive and defensive sides of the football. We address the plan of attacks for both teams heading into Sunday and much more. Zach ends his interview with a score prediction for Sunday's game.

If not already doing so, please follow Zach on Twitter/X at @ZBerm and make sure to read his work online here: https://allphly.com/author/zach/

Alex and I then proceed to give our full breakdown and preview of the Steelers' Sunday road game against the Eagles. We go over what we have observed the last few weeks from the Eagles, what the Steelers must do on both sides of the football to win, and much more.

Later in this show, Alex and I give our picks for all of the Week 15 NFL games against the spread. This segment also includes our final score predictions for the Steelers' game against the Eagles.

This 122-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners.

    Show notes

    December 11, 2024 -

Season 15, Episode 63 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they start preparing to play the Philadelphia Eagles on the road Sunday.

We talk early in this show about the status of Steelers WR George Pickens, who is dealing with a hamstring injury right now. We go over him being doubtful to play Sunday against the Eagles and the possibility of him missing additional games beyond that. Alex and I also address the rest of the injuries the team is currently dealing with and if Saturday might be the day that DT Montravius Adams gets activated to the 53-man roster.

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday, so Alex and I make sure to hit all of the main talking points to come out of that media session. We discuss the Steelers' offense starting slow again this season and what Tomlin had to say Tuesday about that.

On the heels of the second episode of AFC North Knocks Hard Knocks airing Tuesday night, Alex and I go over a lot of the segments that featured the Steelers and give our thoughts on where this series will go from here. We discuss several clips that Tomlin and CB Jory Porter Jr. were in.

Later in this show, Alex and I get into our full takeaways and what all we learned from the all-22 tape of the Steelers' Week 14 home win against the Cleveland Browns. We focus on our offensive takeaways before moving on to cover our thoughts on the defense as well as a little bit on special teams. We discuss the state of the Steelers defensive line moving forward into 2025 as well as several players that are poised to become unrestricted free agents during the offseason.

Will ILB Cole Holcomb make back from the Reserve/PUP list before the 2024 season ends? What about rookie WR Roman Wilson as well? Alex and I discuss the situation of both players heading into Wednesday afternoon.

This 90-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners.

The Terrible Podcast — Steelers Vs. Browns Recap, Pregame News, Health Updates, Listener Emails & More Dec 09, 2024
    Show notes

    December 9, 2024 -

Season 15, Episode 62 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers' Sunday afternoon hone win against the Cleveland Browns and how it effectively eliminated their divisional foe from playoff contention.

Before we dive deeper into breaking down the Steelers' Sunday win against the Browns, Alex and I go over the pregame news that mostly centered around WR George Pickens being made inactive for the contest with a hamstring injury. We discuss the notion that Pickens was made inactive Sunday as some sort of punishment, and we push back on that based on comments made after the game and how the tera leaves add up to him truly being injured. We also discuss the decision that was made to make DL Dean Lowry inactive on Sunday as well.

With the pregame housekeeping all out of the way, Alex and I dive into the Steelers’ win against the Browns and we start on the offensive side of the football. We discuss the play of Steelers QB Russell Wilson against the Browns, some key throws that he made and how he got rid of the football a lot quicker on Sunday.

We go over the offensive attack the Steelers had on Sunday against the Browns and the play of several other individual players. We also peek at some early offensive linemen grades from Pro Football Focus as well. We make sure to give flowers to appropriate players and that include Mike Williams, Scotty Miller, Pat Freiermuth and Jaylen Warren for plays they made on Sunday.

Alex and I then go over the play of the Steelers’ defense on Sunday against the Browns. We talk about the long touchdown pass allowed, the three sacks and two defensive takeaways with the early one from DT Keeanu Benton being a catalyst. We also discuss the good, bad, and ugly from that side of the football.

Steelers DT Cameron Heyward continues to have a very impressive 2024 season, so Alex and I make sure to highlight more of that coming out of Sunday's game. We also hit on a few special teams notes that we have coming out of Sunday's win against the Browns. We discuss several key stats from Sunday as part of our game recap discussion.

Alex and I look at the Steelers’ last four games and what the team needs to do to clinch a playoff spot in Week 15. We also discuss the expectations and excitement for the 2024 Steelers in the playoffs.

The Tuesday episode of AFC North Hard Knocks should be an entertaining one once again, so we look ahead to that later in the show.

This 100-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners.
