She was too scared to do anything even putting her hand up to join gymnastics class. Jennifer Field is actress, host, and beauty queen. She holds the title of Miss Asian America 2006-2007. Her love of performing began at 4 years old, with a regimen of piano, ballet, and tap classes.By the time she was in third grade, she was writing, producing, directing, casting, and acting in her own plays "aka" skits to her teachers, and convinced some of them to allow her and her classmates to perform in front of the class during academic hours. Jennifer grew active in local children's theatre and community theatre, which led to her interest in classical voice along with her piano and dance training. Jennifer shares how pretending to be confident actually helped to become the self confident person she is today. Julia Legian is an author and a humanitarian. For most of her adult life she has worked in real estate. She quit her job in 2002 and became a successful property investor. In 2004 she set up her own business as a buyer agent to help others follow her footsteps. She has written the book called The Ugly Daughter which is a thrilling real life journey to self discovery, riches and spirituality about Julia growing up in the 70's Vietnam. Julia has been through many obstacles. She has been through so much trauma in her life she had no idea on what to do with her life. It was the moment she faced her own demon that she was able to gain her confidence back again to live the life that she has today. Ada Yip is the CEO of Urban Spring which is committed to offering innovative and sustainable solutions for reducing the amount of single-use plastic waste in Hong Kong. Her first product is to offer safe drinking water through well-designed and well-maintained water dispensers across the city of Hong Kong so that citizens can refill water conveniently. Ada believes that disposable plastic bottles can be drastically reduced if there is a safe, viable, convenient and cool alternative. Ada shares what it was like to transition from working in a corporate job to starting her own business. She didn't have the knowledge on what to do when she changed industries but it was the magic of not knowing is what makes her successful today. Rowan has a BA from Columbia University, an MFA from the UW-Madison, and a 2015 Asian American Writers’ Workshop fellowship. At first, Rowan did not believe that she could write for a living. She thought it was something so impossible for her. In the end, Rowan made the decision to write anyway despite her fears and it has led her to a life that she never thought was possible all because of that one decision. InJung Oh is a visual artist. Working primarily as a painter, Oh has developed the concept Volossom, at once motif, philosophy, and generative process for her work. Volossom embodies the tension between chance and control in art: the prefix “vol,” rooted in the Latin word voluntas (to will), anchors the term to intentionality and aspiration, while “blossom” is a kind of energetic automatism, bringing to mind self-precipitating forms found in nature.
