The SuperFlex SuperShow bids farewell to the great Travis “The Beard” Rasmussen, who takes a leave of absence to deal with real life (Travis, we’ll keep the mic warm and your desk stocked with beard grooming products, and anxiously await your return!). But fear not, for the universe of SuperFlex SuperFriends is vast! John and James spend the episode introducing and getting to know their brand new cohost, and admire his unique and enviable trophy case (does this hint give it away?). This mystery man and new, permanent co-host needs no introduction… but he gets one anyways!

Then, once the pleasantries and “getting-to-know-you” session are out of the way, the three hosts of the SuperShow discuss some early 2019 buys and sells. John’s anxiety flares up to critical levels as the SuperFriends go into the latest episode without a topic or structure. Travis “The Beard” returns! The milestone “oral episode!” And on top of everything else, this episode is made extra exciting by the SuperSix-style awards ceremony, as the guys nominate six players for each of six 2018 superflex fantasy season-long categories, and name six winners. Mahomes, Barkley, Adams and Ertz vie for fantasy MVP, along with a couple darkhorse nominees; the “Super SuperFlex” award goes to the best QB who was drafted as a QB2; the “Waiver Wire Wonder” is awarded to the player who came off the wire to lead fantasy owners to glory, with early season studs like James Conner and Phillip Lindsay squaring off against late season ringers like C.J. Anderson and Damien Williams; Saquon-oh-one takes on underdogs like Mayfield, Ridley and Chubb for the Rookie of the Year award; the “El Busto” award goes to the biggest bust of the year, and can anyone unseat Le’Veon Bell after missing the entire season? Sammy Watkins, Corey Davis, Leonard Fournette and others make their case; and the SuperSleeper award recognizes the late-round lotto ticket that hit the jackpot, with George Kittle, Tyler Boyd and Tyler Lockett striking gold for their owners. SuperFlex SuperShow 68 - The Analyst in the Mirror, Part II: Mr. Wrong Dec 31, 2018

As the NFL regular season comes to a close, John and James continue to reflect on the fantasy season post mortem. The guys reflect on some of their own predictions going into the 2018 fantasy season, starting in Part I with the calls they got right (check out Part I: Mr. Right for their correct calls). The SuperFriends were right to be SuperHigh on Jared Goff, Matt Ryan, James White, Chris Carson, Phillip Lindsay, Kenny Golladay and George Kittle, and they were right to be low on Matthew Stafford, Jameis Winston, Kirk Cousins, Marcus Mariota, Rashaad Penny, LeSean McCoy, Allen Robinson and Josh Gordon. But HOW exactly did they see it coming? And how can fantasy players identify the same indicators in future seasons? The guys revisit their preseason hypotheses in an effort to establish a repeatable process of projections.

Then, in Part II, they look at the calls they got wrong in 2018, and attempt to diagnose the flaws in their processes that led to those poor calls. They were wrong to be so excited for Case Keenum, Tom Brady, Carlos Hyde, David Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, Chris Hogan and others, and missed the mark by fading Pat Mahomes, Andrew Luck, Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley, Amari Cooper, Stefon Diggs and more. What can fantasy players look for in those flawed predictions that will help make better assumptions in the future?

And armed with a fresh perspective and a little humility, “The Brain” and “The Dude” each have a few way-to-early 2019 predictions on Baker Mayfield, Russell Wilson, Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson, Amari Cooper and Saquon Barkley… but will an improved process be enough to see them come to fruition? SuperFlex SuperShow 67 - All Over But the Crying… and Ranking Dec 20, 2018

We. Are. BACK!!!

Back from a month-long hiatus, the SuperShow shifts its primary focus to the dynasty superflex offseason. John and James start with reflections on the “game about the game,” with lessons learned in 2018; both of the guys focus on lineup-setting revelations, and John finally and begrudgingly concedes an important point on dynasty running backs.

Then, the guys talk through the process of updating their DynastyLeagueFootball.com Superflex/2QB rankings (check them out HERE) by identifying their top 5 at each position, and highlighting some of the bigger moves in their respective rankings – both risers and fallers. The great QB1 debate officially begins as Pat Mahomes takes over the top spot for one of the SuperFriends but not the other; meanwhile, an old familiar name sneaks into the QB1 conversation. The top 5 at the other three positions look very similar, but two teammates battle for the 5th spot in the wide receiver rankings, Alvin Kamara and Melvin Gordon square off for the final top 5 spot at running back, and George Kittle is the TE3 for both guys… with a big difference in their overall rankings! Plus, the rise of Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Amari Cooper, Phillip Lindsay, Austin Ekeler and Josh Allen, and the fall of Derek Carr, Case Keenum, Golden Tate, Allen Robinson, Blake Bortles and Devonta Freeman.

Finally, “The Brain” and “The Dude” get back to the 2018 season one more time with some Week 16 roster decisions in superflex: Goff or Allen? Henry or Gordon? Foles or Mariota? Jarvis Landry or Mike Williams? Thoughts on some of the toughest lineup decisions going into championship title fights around the superflex universe! All that and more in this week’s triumphant return and championship/offseason prep-isode!
