Purple Hyacinth 92: Brainy Birds (with Fwoot and Nef) May 04, 2021

Show notes

We open up with a devastating image of Kieran awakening in the church, a snowflake landing on his face. He is thoroughly beaten, and has clearly passed out. But instead of the reaction you might expect, he laughs. He laughs and makes an enigmatic statement whose meaning we speculate over.

We then turn to the precinct office, where Lauren declines to sign up for security at Redcliff's ball in order to infiltrate in more traditional methods. That investigative line of thinking has her communicating with Kieran, when she also notices unusual behavior on his part. Learning that his apartment is unavailable, Lauren suggests the cave, a testament to her willingness to put aside emotions to focus on the mission. Kieran is perturbed, and we discuss possible reasons, all of which may make you cry.

Next, we transition to Kym and Will investigating the Carmine Camelia. Shortly thereafter, they are in a cafe, where Kym has adopted the persona of a cigar smoking, sunglasses toting detective. There are some dramatics with Kym and a certain philanderer, but the final shock of the episode comes when Kym displays some strong deductive skills of her own...

Purple Hyacinth 22: Disruptive Discovery (with Fwoot and Shivii) May 03, 2021

Show notes

Kieran continues his interrogation, but then Lauren discovers something shocking in a notebook.

The APD enters the Golden Clover, encounters Lady A and the butler, and is about to enter the storage room.

Meanwhile Lauren has lost her mind and shoved the paper into Anslow's face (after ripping off his blindfold!), trying to get information out of him.

Anslow is too shocked to say anything, and Kieran, aware of the police's imminent entrance, slings Lauren over his shoulder and hightails it out of there, with a clack paralleling the APD's clack as they enter.

March rushes to the window to check for the fleeing team, but only sees an empty street.

Purple Hyacinth 21: Tricky Teamwork (with Firedancer, Fwoot, and Meg) Apr 30, 2021

Show notes

Poor Kieran thought he was trying to seduce Lauren. He wasn't expecting Lauren, and neither was Anslow.

Our femme fatale makes her way across the room with confidence, and sits sultrily at the table. It isn't long before she catches Anslow's eye, and Mr. Freckle Face plays right into her elegant hands. If his fate wasn't sealed before, it certainly was after he mentioned her pensive eyes.

She drags him across the room, where Kieran makes quick work of him. Once again, Kieran and Lauren have prepared very well and know exactly how to communicate for an effective interrogation. NOT. Anslow thinks it just got windy in the room.

Just as they are about to depart, Lauren, rifling through Anslow's notebook, finds something that shocks you. (The next episode will shock you! Click the link to out why!)

Purple Hyacinth 20: Dancing Devil (with Bundin, Firedancer, and Fwoot) Apr 29, 2021

Show notes

Poor Hermann. All he wanted was to drink his coffee, but instead he got a mysterious black and gold file.

Back at the club, Kieran and Lauren are doing their best to be wealthy socialiates without a care in the world. Their dancing is elegant and their posture impeccable (thank you to Firedancer for pointing that out!), but their conversation is anything but benign.

Can we also point out that all this close proximity is... ahem, sexy?

Lauren is upset that Kieran knows some information about her family. She is also soon concerned because she spots, once again, Lady A and her butler, who are somehow always nearby.

Pretty soon, Lauren spots Mr. Freckle Face himself, none other than Harry Anslow. She makes sure to get REAL CLOSE to Kieran to tell him.

The StoryTinker Trailer Apr 27, 2021

Show notes

Intro.

Purple Hyacinth 91: Rough Reminder (with Fwoot and Nef) Apr 27, 2021

Show notes

In a totally unexpected move, we get to meet two people in person that we didn't think we'd meet yet.

We discuss the character of the Phantom Scythe and the leader, analyzing his change from idealist to twisted dictator, comparing him to Darth Vader.

The scene switches to a perfectly coiffed elegant person sitting in an equally elegant office. Clues indicate that this is Viscount Redcliffe. Bella walks through a hidden trapdoor and a conversation ensues that has us loathing the fashionable and menacing Apostle VII and sympathizing for Bella. We discuss the difference between physical abuse and mental abuse, and how Bella has been isolated and psychologically manipulated.

In our final scene, our red hooded Kieran walks into the crumbling Greychapel church, where he is assaulted by Messenger IV and their minions. Kieran defends himself valiantly but is shortly overpowered. While his body takes a beating, he never lets them take his personality. We end this episode grieving for our baby Kieran!

Purple Hyacinth 19: Laconic Lass (with Bundin and Firedancer) Apr 26, 2021

Show notes

Lauren and Kieran are in the cave, planning their next move. Kieran genuinely praises her and great banter ensues.

They meet on a blue toned evening, Kieran dressed for the occasion and Lauren dressed for maximum suspicion - until she unveils and shows Kieran quite the sight, both in dress and weapons.

We end our episode with some crack predictions.

Purple Hyacinth 18: Lunatic Lovers (with Meg and Vita) Apr 23, 2021

Show notes

Our trio steps outside the police station, and is immediately met by a sight: an elegant, if somewhat ridiculous, coiffured figure with a lamp in her hair. She has lost her butler, to whom she is apparently devoted. Her devotion, however, does not preclude her from noticing a handsome someone's baby blues.

Yet the most concerning detail of the Lamplady is not her disloyalty to her butler. Lamplady knows about Lune despite it being an APD secret. Sus much???

We get a mention of Kym's pocketwatch and an exhibit of her amazing time detecting abilities. The butler reappears and all's well that ends well... so far.

The episode ends with Kym's emotional target practice and a mysterious reference to time...
