Jermaine Samuels had the biggest game of his career, so far, dialing up a red-hot 29-point performance. On a night dedicated to the Villanova Wildcats' seniors, Samuels led the way and stole the show in the victory over the No. 10-ranked Marquette Golden Eagles. We discuss what went right vs. what wasn't working during the three-game losing streak that 'Nova has now broken. Shoutout to Samuels, as well as the five seniors 'Nova honored--Phil Booth, Eric Paschall, Joe Cremo, Peyton Heck, and Tim Delaney. With the win, the 'Cats even up the season series with the Golden Eagles. If 'Nova is able to catch up and tie Marquette in the standings--as long as St. John's finishes third--the 'Cats can snatch back the No. 1 seed in the Big East Tournament. Obviously, Marquette would have to lose one more, and 'Nova has to win out, but the regular season title and top-seed is not gone yet. After playing the final game at the Finn this season, the 'Cats will prepare to play one last one at the Wells Fargo Center, when they take on the Butler Bulldogs on Saturday.
