A Beginner's Perspective | Learning How to Turkey Hunt from Scratch Dec 30, 2024

If you're new to turkey hunting, or just getting started at least, this episode is for you. Today, we sit down with our good buddy Jeremy Morgan, who didn't start hunting turkeys until he was a young adult. He's come a long way since starting from scratch in 2019, but he has plenty of stories in the memory bank to detail just how tough turkey hunting from ground zero can be.
From missing the first six longboards he saw, to shooting multiple turkeys in multiple states each year, Jeremy's progression as a new-ish turkey hunter is one we can all relate to, and provides a good change of pace from our usual story sessions.

Host Hunter Farrior heads down to Alabama to do a little turkey hunting with Slade Johnston, of Trips4Trade.com, to get a little background on Slade’s latest role in a new world record for the Wild Turkey Grand Slam.

Hunter Farrior explains his theory of there being two primary types of turkey hunters, their correlating styles of calling , repositioning, and setup tactics, and how to determine which type of hunter you might be.
He elaborates on which type he is, and how he uses that to hunt turkeys in Mississippi.

Episode 2: Family Ties Nov 20, 2020

In the second and final introductory episode with those that have helped Spring Legion become what it is known to be today, Chase Farrior sits down with older brother, Hunter Farrior, to give his take on building the brand and reflect on the two brothers turkey hunting together.

Chase touches on the early days of building Spring Legion.
The two describe how, even though they are brothers, they differ vastly when approaching gobbling turkeys in the spring woods.
What works for one turkey hunter, might not work for another.
Wild turkeys, alone, can teach you much more than the advice of another hunter.

This wraps up our first stage of the new podcast where the guys introduce themselves and reflect a little on how we got here.
