Show notes
We're back from an incredible trip to State College, and we've got a lot of college football to unpack, starting with the news that Sam Pittman has been fired at Arkansas. With Bobby Petrino taking over as interim head coach, we discuss the likely candidates to permanently replace Pittman, including Rhett Lashlee, GJ Kinne, John Sumrall, Deion Sanders, and others.
From there, we dive deep into conference power rankings for all four major conferences. We go team-by-team through the SEC, Big Ten, ACC, and Big 12, making some calls that'll probably upset you. We disagree on Georgia's placement after their home loss to Alabama, try to make sense of ACC chaos beyond Miami, figure out which Big 12 teams are actually good, and weirdly agree on a relatively orderly Big Ten.
We also share stray thoughts from Week 5 games we didn't get to discuss in detail—Ohio State's dominant defense, Ole Miss looking legit, LSU's offensive struggles, the USC-Illinois thriller, and why Mississippi State deserves more respect.
Finally, we break down two massive Week 6 matchups with early predictions. For Vanderbilt at Alabama, we explain why this revenge game might not go the way most expect. And for Miami at Florida State, we discuss why this spread has dropped significantly and why we're both taking the Seminoles with the points in their first true test.
Finally, we share our completely unfiltered experience from Penn State's Whiteout game between Oregon and Penn State. The crowd was ear-splitting and incredible—truly one of the best environments in college football. From the tailgate scene to the in-game atmosphere to the postgame chaos, we give you the full State College experience.
