Miller Morning Madhouse – A SoCool Podcast Joint

🎙️ Miller Morning Madhouse – A SoCool Podcast Production

From the slightly warped minds behind The SoCool Podcast comes Miller Morning Madhouse — the unholy offspring of 1980s talk radio, Gen X nostalgia, and questionable life choices. Broadcasting straight from the SoCool Studios in Gary, Indiana, this is where chaos meets caffeine.

It all began with The SoCool Podcast — an improv joint featuring Jerry Pancake, Christopher Robin, and the ever-sultry Yolo Monte Cristo, where two forty-something guys tried to stay cool with zero research and 100% attitude. That same spirit of reckless creativity lives on in the Madhouse, now starring Jerry Pancake, Josh Scramble, Jen Pancake, and Elizabeth Benedict — the wildest morning crew this side of Lake Michigan.

Expect the familiar SoCool mix of improv comedy, fake commercials, nostalgic wormholes, and Miller Beach mayhem — now supercharged with local flavor, trivia battles, and unfiltered banter. It’s morning radio the SoCool way: louder, looser, and proudly sponsored by SoCoolShirts.com
    — Wear your weird.

So have a Miller Pour or a Miller Lite, tune in, and join the crew as they carry the SoCool torch into a new generation of comedy, community, and glorious dysfunction.

“All you guys do is sit up there and talk about how f*cking cool you are.”
Yeah. That’s kind of the point.

Buckle up, Miller. The madhouse doors are open. 🎧🔥

    Advent 2025 E2 - Saved by the bells... Dec 02, 2025
    Show notes

🎙️ Episode 2: Saved By The Bells

It's Day 2 of the Miller Morning Madhouse Audio Advent Calendar, and Scramble has officially hit his holiday limit.
Not with shopping crowds. Not with Mariah Carey.
Nope — with the Salvation Army bell ringers.

Apparently, the non-stop ding-ding-ding outside the grocery store has driven him to the edge of Yuletide sanity.
Pancake, being the problem-SOLVER (not causer) that he is, proposes a brilliant solution:
➡️ What if the bell ringers were actually Holiday DJs?
Like DJ Marshmallow — but festive. With snow. And Grandma dancing.

    Picture this:
    🎧 Giant fundraising kettle
🔥 Lights, fog machine, disco Santa
🕺 Bell ringer now known as DJ Jingle Jams

Will Scramble be saved by the bells?
Or will he file a noise complaint with the North Pole?

    Advent 2025 E1 - Grandma got run over by a Burro... Dec 01, 2025
    Show notes

From the snowy shores of Miller Beach comes the first-ever Miller Morning Madhouse Advent Calendar — a daily December podcast event filled with festive chaos, emotional baggage, muppet-style storytelling, and more holiday drama than a Frankfort HOA meeting.

🎙️ Episode 1: Grandma Got Run Over by a Burro
It’s 1978 in Blue Island, Illinois. Little Jerry Pancake, wearing his Mister Rogers clip-on tie and an excessive level of enthusiasm, belts out Feliz Navidad at the Lincoln School Holiday Concert. The problem? The neighborhood wasn't emotionally or culturally ready for José Feliciano.

    Jerry sang. Grandma raged.
    Dad panicked.
    Mom packed.
And just like that, Grandma declared, “We’re moving to Frankfort! They only have one stoplight, and nobody sings in Spanish!”

The family left Blue Island faster than you can say Prospero Año y Felicidad, all because a kindergarten kid sang a Mexican Christmas song with Muppet-level passion and rhythm sticks. Grandma blamed the song, the school, and most importantly — the burro Jerry drew in crayon on their Christmas card.

Miller Morning Madhouse S2E10: Face Down in Cabo... Nov 13, 2025
    Show notes

🎙️ Episode: Cabo Makeover Meltdown – The Pancake House Transformation

After a long, chaotic travel day home from Cabo — complete with circling O’Hare, a trash-filled Uber piloted by a man on Jesus music and edibles, and the kind of exhaustion that reshapes your soul — Pancake walks into the surprise of a lifetime: a full HGTV-style home makeover engineered by Leslie Lattes, Jen Dancin, and Sandy Strawberry Shortcake.

Meanwhile, Scramble recounts his own personal hell: being drafted into the technical nightmare of removing the TV from the fireplace, re-mounting it, managing the world’s flimsiest Samsung frame bezel, hooking up speakers, and trying not to snap while every person in the house asked him why he was “doing it like that.”

The gang revisits the chaos of Cabo: the cattle-call nude massage, the Golden Shower sports bar with 58 TVs and four wings for $20, soaked shoes, sand shoveling, screaming cruise ship kids, and Pancake simply wanting to lay by the pool — but being dragged into Activities™ instead.

With exhaustion, hilarity, and unexpected home-renovation emotions, S2E10 captures pure Miller Madhouse energy: chaos, friendship, rage, gratitude, and inappropriate jokes all rolled into one.

🎙️ Episode: Miller All-Stars & The Cabo Third Wheel Disaster

Jerry returns from Cabo with a tale of pure airline suffering — trapped in the middle seat between a couple who treated Row 18 like a honeymoon suite. Meanwhile, back home in Miller Beach, Jen Pancake and Josh Scramble are honored by the Miller Beach Citizens Corporation as this year’s Miller All-Stars for their community impact. Jerry is proud. Jerry is supportive. Jerry is also extremely bored.

Plus: cake mishaps, inflatable movie chaos, golf outing conspiracy theories, and what happens when you try to throw Miller-style celebrations with absolutely no plan.

Postgame? A Voltron of friend groups at Sand & Salsa, powerful margs, and accidental double tips. Miller, never change.

Miller Morning Madhouse S2E5: Afterburners and Sunburners... Aug 16, 2025
    Show notes

🎙️ Episode Title: Afterburners and Sunburners...

👥 Hosts: Jerry Pancake & Josh Scramble (with cameos from Broadway Beth, Joel, and Gianna “G-Eazy”)

🎧 Presented by: SoCoolShirts.com & All In Jest Trivia

💥 In this extra-toasty episode, the Madhouse crew recaps the Gary Air Show — Miller’s unofficial Super Bowl of sunburns, shitbags, and sketchy $20 driveway parking schemes. The Thunderbirds roar overhead while locals roast below, turning the beach into a battlefield of canopies, patio furniture, and pure chaos.
☀️ Josh reports live from the sand with survival tips: don’t fuck with the locals, bring water, and for the love of SPF, wear sunscreen unless you enjoy looking like graffiti-tagged ribs.
🚗 Meanwhile, the neighborhood parking wars hit full tilt — from friends “borrowing” driveways, to mystery suspects running over safety signs, to Miller’s favorite hustle: $20 cash, grass, or ass to park between a busted trampoline and a rusted-out Camaro.
🔥 Add in a live “shitbag count,” sunburn horror stories, and a PSA about not setting up your towel two inches from someone else, and you’ve got peak Miller madness.

🧢 Sponsored by SoCoolShirts.com — where your beach hangover is always in fashion — and The Miller Community Theatre — proving community theater and chaos can co-exist since forever.

Miller Morning Madhouse S2E4: Born on the 3rd of July... Jul 20, 2025
    Show notes

🎙️ Episode Title: Born on the 3rd of July
👥 Hosts: Jerry Pancake, Josh Scramble, Elizabeth Benedict

🎧 Presented by: SoCoolShirts.com & The Miller Beach University of Advanced Consumption

💥 In this red, white, and totally unhinged episode, the gang recaps a wild stretch of summer madness in Miller Beach. First up, a fight breaks out at The Flamingo just before the 4th — punches, flip-flops, and bad decisions flying through the air like bottle rockets.

☀️ Then we check in on the heatwave that’s got everybody spicier than gas station salsa, and reflect on the emotional toll of 92 degrees, warm beer, and shirtless overconfidence.

🎆 And finally, it’s our 4th of July wrap-up — Miller-style. One rookie drinker nearly goes down for the count, but is heroically saved by a bikini-clad mom-squad trained by sheer instinct and poolside Pinot Grigio. If you're new to Miller, know this: our 4th is not for beginners. It’s T-ball meets MLB fastballs, and the only rule is don't pass out in the sand.

🧢 Sponsored by SoCoolShirts.com — where your hangover can be stylish — and the prestigious Miller Beach University of Advanced Consumption — educating the next generation of questionable decisions since last Thursday.

🔊 Tune in and remember: in Miller, the fireworks don’t stop just because the sky clears.

Miller Morning Madhouse S2E3: Karmann Ghia Cutlass.... Jul 08, 2025
    Show notes

🎙️ Episode Title: First Cars & Kinda-For-Sale Dreams

In this very special episode of Miller Morning Madhouse, Jerry Pancake finally spills the (motor) oil on true stories he’s never shared before—his legendary first cars. Buckle up for tales of a wobbly Karmann Ghia and a 1977 Cutlass Supreme so massive it needed its own zip code. These are the rides that started it all—and yes, we’re talking about the IROC-Z too. It’s still around. It’s still loud. And it’s kinda for sale (if you’re cool).

🎭 Also in this episode: a shoutout to the Madwomen’s Late Night Cabaret, the latest production from Miller Community Theatre, running this weekend and next at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts in beautiful downtown Gary. 👉 millercommunitytheatre.com

🚗 Bonus nostalgia bomb: We’re rerunning the very first commercial ever made for the SoCool Podcast—a 2019 throwback ad for Betten Chevrolet in South Haven, Michigan, recorded by Jerry Pancake and Christopher Robin in the middle of a fever dream and a snowstorm. It’s as chaotic and brilliant as you'd expect.
