Ep 113: Obesity, The Real Pandemic – Cause, Effect and The Solution Oct 12, 2021
    Show notes

As we fly through the universe of crazy these days, we are ignoring the biggest elephant (figuratively and literally) in the room, causing the most harm in this country: obesity. In America, it will not be a murky virus, economic ruin, or even terrorism that does us in--it appears it will be our inability to put down a fork and knife. Our waistlines are exploding, we are on numerous pharmaceutical drugs, yet we ignore the easiest solution to our weight gain woes: regular exercise and eating healthy. But what does that really mean? We will dig into the numbers, and I will warn you they are not pretty. To say we are fat as a nation is putting it nicely. The facts tell a very disturbing problem in our society, and it is getting worse at an alarming rate. Today I bring on my favorite scientist and data analyst to help me go through the numbers--Madame X. Yes, she has to use an alias, well, because people are crazy. Topics Discussed: * What the do the statistics really say about obesity * What is the “Healthcare Industrial Complex” * Why there is no money in healthy people * Why being fat is not beautiful and definitely not healthy * Why optimal health is the key to not getting Covid, not getting vaccinated * Is it possible some of us are genetically skewed to be overweight, or obese * Can you beat bad genetics and still live a life of optimal health and wellness * Why it is easy to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle if you just pay attention * Why health fads are fads for a reason * Why your poor health negatively impacts everyone around you Episode Resources: * Link to Gary’s World Famous Health Book: https://thesimplelifenow.com/product/the-simple-life-guide-to-optimal-health-softcover/ * The Simple Life Website: https://thesimplelifenow.com *Make sure to signup and be a member of The Simple Life Insider's Circle at: https://thesimplelifenow.com/the-simple-life/ Show Links: https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/obesity-prevention-source/prevalence-incidence/ Divino et al , J Manag Care Spec Pharm_2021 Feb;27(2):210-222. Ep 112: Where is The Economy Going, and How to Survive the Storm and Thrive Oct 05, 2021
    Show notes

In today's episode, I discuss where I think the economy is going, what you can do to weather the storm, and recent moves I have made financially to put myself in the best position possible. I'm a realist, and I like to make decisions on what I can see and prove. But today, we are being told the empty shelves, and skyrocketing consumer good prices are just transitory. Again, I only make decisions on what I can see and prove, which doesn't pass the rational thinking and eyeball test. I know most of these upper-crust bureaucrats haven't entered a grocery store or pumped their own gas in decades. So how would they even know that their fifty pints of boutique ice cream have gone up in price... simple answer, they don't, and don't care. So what does the economy look like in the near future for us working class citizens who have to actually work and pay for things with our hard earned money? Topics Discussed: * Is the economy doing as well as we are being told * What is the real state of our economy * The fact is we are definitely experiencing inflation and it is not going away anytime soon * Why pumping money into the economy is not the answer and a disaster in the making * Why you should not make any large purchases now or in the near future * Why if you can you should sell all your high value items and sit tight * Why being flexible and able to move on a dime is incredibly important * Where you should be putting your money, or more importantly where you shouldn’t be * The recent moves I have made in order to prepare myself for this financial storm * Why voting with your feet is critical * Why the Three-Legged Stool of The Simple Life is so critical to your financial security Episode Resources: * The Simple Life Website: https://thesimplelifenow.com *Make sure to signup and be a member of The Simple Life Insider's Circle at: https://thesimplelifenow.com/the-simple-life/

Ep 111: Miriam of Chicks On The Right and Mock’n Rob Show – Why Humor with Your Politics is Better Sep 28, 2021
    Show notes

Today, I have an extraordinary, and entertaining guest; Miriam Weaver of The Chicks On The Right and Mock'n Rob show. I have become a big fan of both shows that mix humor, politics, and life all into one. Let's face it, most political commentary today makes you want to run out into the street naked with clown makeup screaming "come and get me." But these two shows keep you informed, yet laughing at the same time. We flat out need more laughter today, so I wanted to introduce my audience to Miriam and what she does. About Mariam: Miriam Weaver (‘Mockarena’, Co-Founder)Mockarena (or “Mock” for short) used to work in Human Resources prior to becoming a full time Chick on the Right, focusing on recruiting and hiring, and avoiding the tasks of firing and employee relations as much as possible without getting fired herself. She’s the product of Polish immigrants, who came to the United States in 1969 legally, and taught her what it means to melt into the great American pot. Mock is a University of Kansas grad, but is a fan of Georgia football thanks to her husband being an alum (and the fact that their colors make for better fashion choices.) Mock is the proud mom of two (preemie!) boys, the eldest of which has severe cerebral palsy and the ability to melt even the coldest heart with his smile. Her youngest son is setting her up to be the worst mother-in-law ever, because no girl will ever be good enough for him, what with his total brilliance and killer good looks and incredibly charming personality and whatnot. Mock is infatuated beyond description with pop star Robbie Williams, but her heart belongs completely to her husband, who she insists is so good at understanding women he should teach a master class. She lives with her family in Indiana, and when she’s not cuddling her two dogs, she enjoys Zumba, poring over house plans and interior design pics to get ideas for her future home in Low Country, and dreaming of a world devoid of progressive feminists who wear pussy hats. The Chicks on the Right website was founded by Amy Jo Clark and Miriam Weaver in 2009. The Chicks’ radio show airs on weekdays between 9am and 11am on Indianapolis’ 93WIBC FM station. The Chicks landed their book deal in October of 2014. Their book, Right for a Reason: Life, Liberty, and a Crapload of Common Sense, hit bookshelves in 2014. They have appeared as guests on national television programs, inlcuding Fox and Friends, Varney & Company and CNN Tonight. They appear on various nationally syndicated radio programs. In 2017, the Chicks were honored as the Best Broadcast Team at the Spectrum Award Winners in the Indianapolis Market. Their weekly podcast, the Mock and Daisy Common Sense Cast, premiered with Radio America in August of 2019, and new episodes are released every Wednesday. With millions of subscribers and social media followers across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, ChicksOnRight.com receives millions of monthly page views. The site primarily offers journalism that reports and comments on current events. Readers are welcome to comment on these articles. Topics Discussed: * How did Miriam get involved in radio that eventually led to being the host of two of the most popular talk shows in the country * How discovering your path in life isn’t always easy, and in most cases is accidental * Why mixing humor with your politics is critical to staying sane today * Why lifelong victims are ruining this country * What happened to Miriam recently that caused a bit of a mental meltdown * Why focusing on being a better person is key * Why you should be getting involved in your communities and maybe even running for political office * Why she dreams of a world devoid of progressive feminists who wear pussy hats * Miriam tells us why she has infatuation with pop-star Robby Williams and Ron Disantes Episode Resources: * Website for Mock’n Rob Show: https://www.wibc.

Ep 109: Sane Virologist X – What the Data Really Says About Covid 19 Sep 16, 2021
    Show notes

As we approach two years of living in a Corona Virus world, things just seem to get stranger and stranger. At the risk of getting canceled and bombarded from all angles, I have decided I have had enough, and I'm not alone. Slowly our individual rights are being eroded by a virus that has now become political ammo to do so. How did we get here? What does the data actually say? If you ask these simple questions, you are a virus, vaccine, and science denier. If you don't follow what appears to be a completely incompetent government hell-bent on tyranny, you have become the enemy. How did asking questions that are rational and well thought out make you an enemy of your own government? If you attempt to ask questions or provide data to the contrary of "the science" you will be instantly de-platformed in many cases on social media and at the very least have that content taken down. Does that sound like what the founding fathers intended when they wrote the 1st Amendment... I don't think so. What makes this country great, is that we can express our opinions and have a rational debate. Covid appears to be ending that, and that is a very disturbing place to be. About Sane Virologist X: Today, I'm bringing on a microbiologist/virologist, who has some of the most impressive bonafides on the subject of Covid. There is no agenda, no Youtube channel to promote, and no books to sell, just an honest interpretation of the data by a true professional in the field. Unfortunately, do to the climate of cancel culture, and threats to peoples lives in this conversation, I have decided to give this person an alias. I did all the research and had many conversations with "Sane Virologist X" so rest assured this is the real deal. Topics Discussed: * What is the Corona Virus and what makes it different from the common flu * Where did the Covid 19 come from and what makes it different from versions 1-18 * By the data is Covid 19 more deadly than the common flu * Who is the most affected by Covid 19, according to the data * Is the CDC manipulating and scrubbing the data on Covid 19 * What makes the vaccines for Covid 19 so different from traditional vaccines * What are the best ways to combat Covid 19 * Why health is always the key Episode Resources: * The Simple Life Website: https://thesimplelifenow.com *Make sure to signup and be a member of The Simple Life Insider's Circle at: https://thesimplelifenow.com/the-simple-life/

Ep 108: Myles Wakeham: Australia is at War with its Own Citizens – An Example of Freedoms Lost Sep 14, 2021
    Show notes

We are in extraordinary times today; if you believe in individual freedom in many places, you are considered a white supremacist, racist, or any other IST they can attach to you. Countries such as Australia are losing their individual freedoms at a world record pace. Just a couple years ago no one could have predicted this, but here we are. In most cases, the facts of this are being hidden, by now what appears to be totalitarian governments and the dishonest press. Today I have Australian ex-pat Myles Wakeham, who still has family and friends in Australia. I will not candy coat it--what he reveals in this interview is going to blow people away! It is much worse than I could have ever imagined... we are at war, it is a battle between good and evil. It is time for us to wake up and fight the good fight, but we can't do that if we don't know what is really going on. In upcoming episodes I'm going to be exposing some of the evil that is slowly creeping its way into our lives today. As I always say "you don't know, what you don't know." About Myles in his own words: I was born and raised in Adelaide, Australia. Adelaide was a wonderful place. Clean, great community, great weather, great food. I mean the idyllic location. My parents were not wealthy, but nor were they poor. My father worked all of his life for the same company. My mother was a stay-at-home parent. My parents owned their own home and paid it off. They struggled financially but were able to put me through private school. I was an only child – I guess I didn’t have to share their focus with another, so I got lucky. I had always been interested in technology from a young age. I was such an avid learner that I would go to great extremes to seek out things and get involved in clubs, community groups, etc. I rode my bike everywhere – even for hours to the city’s center to spend my Sunday afternoons in the public library. Soaking up every bit of knowledge I could get. Strange things that people often didn’t pay attention to. But I did. One day I got exposed to CB Radios. This was in the 1970s. I became obsessed (as I often did with things). I learned about electronics, physics, communications, etc. This led me towards computers, and eventually, I bought one of the first personal computers – in 1978, the TRS-80 Model 1 computer. I learned everything about programming that computer, and it became everything to me. As the computer industry evolved, so did I. I started a software company and became one of the few experts in software development in Adelaide – getting gigs to write software for government departments, big corporations, etc., and I was still not even 20 years old. My passion for technology was matched with a business passion, which started well before I discovered technology. I guess business was in my DNA. In 1989, I moved to the United States, settling in Los Angeles. I realized that the ability to migrate from one place to another was a life-changing experience. It taught me to embrace everything I found within my grasp, learning about business in the USA, I got involved in the music industry, and I was able to leverage my computer programming experience to land work in some early startups – one of which became Amgen, the world’s largest biotechnology corporation. Although I spent much of the next 30 years living in the USA, I never lost touch with my home of Australia, and in the late 1990s moved back there for many years before returning to the USA. In 2002 I moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, and I’ve lived here since. I am a self-made business owner. I don’t have a job. I do have clients and I do work on software projects and data centers, etc. today. It is because this is what I love to do. It isn’t because this is my career. I’ve never embraced that concept. I think if you are blessed to find your calling early in life and you can turn that into an income earner,

Ep 107: The Bill of Rights – Why Freedom is not Free Sep 07, 2021
    Show notes

Today's episode has been in the works for a while now, but I realized there is no time more relevant than now. I'm dumbfounded that a surprisingly amount of people in the US, have developed a hatred for the freest country in the world, and do so out of ignorance. I always say, those who have sacrificed the least, and understand very little of our nation's history are the people who always scream the loudest about injustice and want to take our individual rights away. They do so because they have zero understanding of the sacrifice millions of Americans have made and will continue to make to keep this country free of tyranny. But some don't want that. Reviewing what makes our constitution unique is an excellent way for us to understand that freedom is not free, and the easiest way to lose it is to sit back and do nothing. Remember what I teach in The Simple Life is all about action, and being self-reliant. Being a whiner and blaming everyone else is a sure way to ruin, not only as an individual, but our country. It is time for us to rally around what makes us free and a beacon to the world. Topics Discussed: * What makes our Constitution unique * Why without laws that focus on individual freedom you will always have chaos * How the founders used separation of powers to avoid future tyranny * Why The Bill of Rights is so important * Why without a strong belief system we are doomed * Why if you don’t like it here you are free to go… and please do * How a small minority are making noise, and should be ignored * Understanding freedom is fragile and must always be protected * And of course many Gary tangents… as always Episode Resources: * The Simple Life Website: https://thesimplelifenow.com *Make sure to signup and be a member of The Simple Life Insider's Circle at: https://thesimplelifenow.com/the-simple-life/

Ep 106: Judah Friedman: Is it Time for a Shadow Government? Aug 31, 2021
    Show notes

We are surrounded by negativity, things are spirally out of control... so what do we do? We, the people by this crazy thing called The Constitution, are supposed to be driving this ship, but it appears many in our government think differently. Not a day goes by when our individual rights are not being infringed upon, and an attempt to be permanently stifled. I would say both political parties are to blame, one that is useless, one that hates this country to the core! So is it time we rise up and take our country and our freedom back? Today, I have back on the show, Judah Friedman, producer of The World According to Ben Stein show. We are going to dig into the possibility of a "Shadow Government" that actually works for the people. Hey, FBI, this is all theoretical so don't come breaking down my door in the middle of the night. Ep 105: How to Stay Motivated Even When Everything Seems to be Going Wrong Aug 24, 2021
    Show notes

It is pretty apparent we are in some extraordinary times, and people are struggling to stay motivated today. I'm no different, I have my good days and, I have my bad days, but I definitely have more good than bad. So how do I and others do it? More importantly, how do we do it consistently. Today, I will go over some recent changes I have made to keep myself motivated and going in the right direction in life and my business. As I always say, "one sure way to be unhappy and fail is to do nothing when things are going wrong." Topics Discussed: * Understanding the relation between good health, happiness, being kind and staying motivated in life * Why I decided to make some recent changes to make my life better * How to balance being informed without being overwhelmed with negativity * Why leading by example is the only way things in your life and others will change for the better * How to live your dreams and find your path * Finding your inner hippy * You decide weather you live in heaven or hell * Why never stopping to be better is the key * Hanging out with winners and ditching the losers Episode Resources: * The Simple Life Website: https://thesimplelifenow.com *Make sure to signup and be a member of The Simple Life Insider's Circle at: https://thesimplelifenow.com/the-simple-life/
