#248 - Don’t Settle for Good Enough When You Have Greatness in You Sep 25, 2026
    Show notes

A few episodes ago, I told you sometimes good enough is GOOD ENOUGH.
    And I meant it.
When life is lifin' and you're barely getting through the day? Get to the other side however you need to.
But today? That's not where I am.
Time is MOVING, and I've been thinking about how much of it we spend waiting, criticizing ourselves or holding back from things we actually want.
In this episode, we're talking about:
    • When “good enough” really is enough... and when it isn't
    • How fast life changes while we're busy living it
    • The prayer I've been saying since I was 7 years old
    • Being way too critical of the person in the mirror
    • Learning to appreciate what you have WHILE you have it
    • Getting honest about what you actually want
    • Why you can't be another person standing in your own way
You get this life right now.
Love where you are. Know what you want. And if you've got it in you to go for it... GO.
Don't settle for good enough when you have it in your spirit to go for greatness.

    #247 - I’m Done Chasing the Body I Had at 16 Sep 18, 2026
    Show notes

A few months ago, I was 200 pounds and VERY pregnant.

Now I'm finding my way back to fitness with a completely different body and, honestly, a different perspective.

I've cared about being active since the 7th grade. I've run 5Ks before Broadway shows, somehow ran a whole marathon without training (DO NOT recommend 😂), worked with different trainers through different seasons of my career, and then pregnancy changed what my body could do.

In this episode, we're talking about:

    • Where my relationship with fitness actually started
    • The ridiculous reason I started running in middle school
    • That time I ran a marathon and then did TWO shows
    • How pregnancy changed the way I could move
    • Getting strong again postpartum
    • Why I'm finally done chasing my teenage body
    • Finding movement that makes YOU feel good

I'm realizing my goal doesn't have to be getting an old version of my body back.

I want to feel GOOD in the one I have now.

#246 - When Good Things End: Learning to Let Go and Keep Going Sep 11, 2026
    Show notes

What happens when something GOOD ends?
TyNia Brandon is back with me, and somehow a conversation that started with purpose, freedom and creativity turned into a much bigger conversation about what we carry with us when life changes.
    We're talking about:
    • Staying connected to your purpose wherever life takes you
    • Why your life partner can impact your career more than you realize
    • The difference between being busy and actually moving the needle
    • The morning practice that's helped me hear myself more clearly
    • Why an ending doesn't automatically mean you failed
    • What Broadway taught both of us about letting go
    • How the highs AND the lows become part of who you're becoming
Some things aren't meant to last forever.
That doesn't mean they didn't matter.
Maybe you take what they gave you, say thank you... and keep going.
    As TyNia said "Onward!"

    • Setting boundaries and protecting your mind
    • Choosing environments that nourish you
    • Why doing what YOU love is never a step backward
    • Being careful who you share your dreams with

Because what was all that work for if you finally get there and can't enjoy the moment?

Protect your mind. Protect your peace. And when the opportunity comes, BE THERE for it.

BONUS: Your Passion, Your Hobby, or Your Business? with Co-Host TyNia Brandon Aug 31, 2026
    Show notes

What happens when the thing you LOVE starts becoming the thing that pays your bills?

TyNia and I started as Broadway performers together. Now somehow we've entered our producer era. 😂

We've produced live shows, created a talent competition, built projects together and turned some of the things we genuinely love doing into actual businesses.

But does EVERY passion need to become a business?

    Absolutely not.

In this bonus episode, we're talking about:

    • How TyNia and I went from Broadway friends to producing together
    • Knowing the difference between a hobby and something you want to monetize
    • Why getting paid for your passion changes what's required of you
    • The discipline and structure that come with turning creativity into a business
    • Why you still need things you do simply because they bring you JOY
    • How one random conversation pushed me to start creating outside of Broadway

Maybe the goal isn't to make money from everything you love.

Maybe it's figuring out which passions you want to build... and which ones you want to keep just for YOU.

The episode supports that distinction especially well when TyNia uses pottery as something she loves without wanting deadlines or deliverables attached to it, while Salisha connects monetizing The Salisha Show with consistency, structure, and a publishing schedule.

#244 - Why Rejection Might Mean You're on the Right Path Aug 28, 2026
    Show notes

People tell me all the time that it looks like I get everything I want.

    Ummm... NO.

I hear no ALL THE TIME.

And weirdly enough, the further I get in my career and the bigger the opportunities become, the bigger some of those rejections feel too.

But I've started looking at rejection differently.

Sometimes hearing no isn't proof that you're failing. It might actually mean you're putting yourself in rooms where a YES could change your life.

In this episode, we're talking about:

    • Why going after bigger dreams usually means experiencing more rejection
    • The Disney auditions that had me questioning everything about myself
    • Why some of my biggest losses have actually been signs of growth
    • What winners really do after taking an L
    • The danger of tying your entire identity to ONE thing
    • How I've learned to build a life where losing one thing doesn't mean losing myself

Feel the disappointment. Be mad. Cry about it if you need to.

    Then get back up.

Because maybe winning isn't about never taking the L.

Maybe it's about refusing to let the L be the end of your story.

    CHAPTERS:

01:33 Why Does It Look Like I'm Always Winning?
03:09 More Opportunities Mean More Rejection
04:18 It Takes Courage to Put Yourself Out There
    05:43 When Rejection Feels Personal

#243 - Build Something So Unshakable That Nobody Can Take It Down Aug 21, 2026
    Show notes

Have you ever spent YEARS building something only to have someone come along and try to tear it down?

    I have.

And today I'm telling a story I've never told publicly before.

It happened backstage at one of my favorite shows, and while it definitely hurt at the time, it taught me something much bigger about reputation, consistency and the things we build over time.

    We're talking about:

    • What happens when someone tries to damage what you've built
    • Why consistency matters more than you realize
    • Building something that can withstand a storm
    • Why I don't want my future controlled by one boss, producer or casting director
    • How YOU can start taking some of that power back

Because careers change. Shows close. People change their minds about you.

So the question I'm sitting with today is:

What are you building that no one person can take away from you?

    #242 - When Home Isn't a Place: Life, Love & Being an Artist Aug 14, 2026
    Show notes

What does home mean when you're constantly on the move?

TyNia and I have both spent YEARS touring, living out of suitcases, staying in hotels, subletting apartments and going wherever the next job took us.

And apparently, if you do that long enough, you might actually forget where you live. 😂

In this episode, we're talking about how our definitions of home have changed throughout our careers and our lives.

We talk about touring, Broadway, New York City, relationships, buying a home, our dream houses and why sometimes "home" has absolutely nothing to do with an address.

For me, that definition has changed a LOT.

    Home has been Fresno.

    Home has been New York.

And now, home can simply be wherever family is at.

So whether you've lived in the same place for 65 years or you're constantly packing another suitcase...

You get to define what home means to YOU.

#241 - Why "Good Enough" Might Be Exactly What You Need Aug 07, 2026
    Show notes

    Have you ever felt overwhelmed...

    ...while also feeling incredibly grateful?

    That's exactly where I am.

Motherhood has brought me more joy than I could have imagined.

It's also introduced me to things I never fully understood until I experienced them myself—mom guilt, perfectionism, the loss of uninterrupted time, and the constant feeling that there just aren't enough hours in the day.

In this episode, I'm sharing some of the lessons I've been learning in real time.

We talk about what I wish I could tell pre-mom Salisha, why "good enough" has become one of the hardest phrases for me to embrace, and why I think following your curiosity is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.

In this episode, you'll hear about:

    • The three kinds of mom guilt I've experienced
    • The advice I'd give myself before motherhood
    • Why putting your phone down might change your life
    • Letting go of perfection and embracing "good enough"
    • Rediscovering joy without needing a purpose
    • Prioritizing your mental health through every season

If you've ever felt like you're carrying both joy and overwhelm at the same time...

    This conversation is for you.

#240 - I Brought My Baby on Stage Because I Had No Other Option Aug 05, 2026
    Show notes

    Let's talk MOTHERHOOD.

Andrew was out of town. Our babysitter wasn't available. I had a performance that night... and Ajax had other plans.

So I did what I had to do.

I rolled his stroller onto the stage and hoped for the best.

What happened next became one of those moments I'll never forget—not because everything went perfectly, but because it didn't.

In this episode, I'm sharing what it's been like navigating motherhood, building my career, recording this show, and asking myself the same question so many of us ask:

Is it actually possible to do it all?

    We talk about:

    • What happened when I brought Ajax on stage with me
    • The reality of motherhood without your usual support system
    • Why New York has stretched me in ways I didn't expect
    • The trade-offs we don't always talk about
    • Learning to stay present when nothing goes according to plan
    • Why "just do the best you can" has become my new mantra
