We Finally Ask Breanna Stewart… Who Is Behind Ellie? | PLUS Balenciaga Has A New Creative Director May 22, 2025
    Show notes

When the Liberty Basketball team won the WNBA national championship last year, Breanna Stewart wasn’t sure anyone would really come to the “Canyon of Heroes” ticker tape parade. But as Stewart’s float turned a corner, thousands of cheering fans came into full view to no one's (except Stewart's) surprise!

It’s clear that the fandom around the WNBA, and the Liberty Basketball team, has reached fever pitch. In today’s episode of The Run Through, Vogue’s Digital Style Director Leah Faye Cooper and Fashion Writer Hannah Jackson talk to Stewart, aka Stewie, in the Barclays arena days after the team's home opener. They discuss Stewie’s experience at the Met Gala, what it’s like to be a bonafide Basketball star, and ask who is really behind the famous Ellie the Elephant Liberty mascot.

Plus, Chloe and Chioma break down Pierpaolo Piccioli's appointment at Balenciaga and the latest celebrity Cannes looks.

Behind Hailey Bieber’s Vogue Cover | PLUS The Best Films at Cannes So Far May 20, 2025
    Show notes

It’s been nearly six years since Hailey Bieber last appeared on the cover of Vogue—and let’s just say, a lot has changed. Now the face of Rhode, one of the most talked-about celebrity skincare brands, Vogue's summer cover star is also stepping into a new chapter as a mother to her son, Jack Blues. On this episode of The Run-Through, writer Alessandra Codinha sits down with Chloe Malle and Deputy Editor Taylor Antrim and shares insights from her time with Hailey—covering everything from the intense scrutiny she faces online, her relationship with her husband Justin Bieber, and the deeply personal story of her difficult childbirth.

Earlier on the show, Radhika Seth reports live from the Croisette at the Cannes Film Festival with the latest from the red carpet and the big screen. She recaps her favorite films so far—and the buzzy ones she’s most looking forward to. As Taylor notes, "deranged mothers" seem to be trending this season, with Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson's Die, My Love making headlines after its festival premiere. Radhika also weighs in on the controversy swirling around Eddington, Ari Aster’s much-hyped follow-up to Beau Is Afraid (spoiler alert: it didn’t make her top picks.)

And of course, no Cannes coverage would be complete without a fashion moment. The group crowned their unofficial “Queens of Cannes,” with Jeremy Strong earning his title for perfectly coordinating his bucket hats and suits, and Alexander Skarsgård turning heads in thigh-high Saint Laurent boots. Let the Hunk Summit begin!

Bella Hadid Is British Vogue’s Cover Star | PLUS Harris Dickinson’s Directorial Debut at Cannes May 15, 2025
    Show notes

Not only did Bella Hadid make a stunning entrance at the Cannes Film Festival, debuting her new blonde hair and skimming the edge of the “naked” dressing ban, but she’s also the cover star of British Vogue's June issue! On this episode of The Run-Through, hosts Chloe and Chioma dive into Bella’s stunning cover shot by Steven Meisel and unpack the allure of supermodels on the face of magazines.

They also discuss the Knicks fever sweeping New York (especially our favorite floor seat couple Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner); and Chioma’s recent meeting with the Princess of Wales during the presentation of The Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.

Later in the episode, we revisit one of our favorite conversations with actor, director, and writer Harris Dickinson—truly a multi-hyphenate—who joined Chloe and Vogue’s Features Editor Marley Marius pegged to his directorial debut, Urchin, premiering at Cannes. Together, they spoke about his unforgettable Met Gala encounter with Nicole Kidman and all things Babygirl.
