The Rosecast | 'Bachelor' Recaps with Rim and AB

Latest Episodes:

"Read Between The Lines" | 'The Bachelorette' S16 E1 Oct 15, 2020

Show notes

At long last, Clare's season from the La Quinta bubble has arrived. With a more mature cast of men who might not even have to share bunk beds, the next few months will surely be low on drama. Right?

Please note: We've decided to cover Clare's season with the major "spoiler" as part of the discussion. If you have somehow managed to avoid this news, it's in your best interests to refrain from listening until, y'know, the coast is clear. (For what it's worth, they discussed the rumors openly on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, so it's not exactly contained to the seedy underbelly of the internet.)

Timestamps:

0:30 Thank you LeBron!

2:30 The big off-season "spoiler" which we are no longer considering a spoiler

6:30 Clare intro

9:00 Bubble stuff

40:00 The BIG limo entrance

49:00 Cocktail Party

1:04:00 Rose Ceremony

1:09:00 Mailbag question

1:11:00 AB's Bachelor Headlines of the Week

Thanks for listening!

Bonus Episode w/ Alyssa and Taylor from Table Flipping: More Juan Pablo, 'The Bachelorette', RHONY, the end of KUWTK, and more Sep 17, 2020

Show notes

TV writer Alyssa Litman and actress Taylor Misiak from the Table Flipping Podcast join us to give their impressions of Juan Pablo, expectations for Clare and [REDACTED] on the upcoming season of 'The Bachelorette', those weird promos, the end of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians', Real Housewives of New York, Vanderpump Rules, the Philadelphia 76ers, and more.

Each week, Alyssa and Taylor sit down with guests to unpack how the fascinating, messy women of reality TV shaped their lives and dish about Bravo, 'The Bachelor' and everything in between. (I can't take credit for this copy, it's straight from their show description and is perfectly accurate as-is.) New episodes every Friday. Check them out on Apple Podcasts: [https://apple.co/3hF1fQU]

Taylor stars as Ally in the brilliant comedy 'DAVE' on FXX. It is easily one of our favorite shows right now. You can stream the entire first season on Hulu: [https://hulu.tv/3hBAgWv]

Also: Rim and AB spent the last 20 minutes of the episode talking about Big Brother even though nobody asked. Enjoy?

Juan Pablo Galavis' Season | 'The Greatest Seasons — Ever!' E10 Sep 09, 2020

Show notes

To prepare us for Clare's stint as the Bachelorette, Chris Harrison saved the worst "greatest" season for last. Juan Pablo's journey to find love endured some late bumps in the road, shall we say, leading to a pair of the most memorable moments in franchise history.

Nick Viall's Season | 'The Greatest Seasons — Ever!' E9 Sep 02, 2020

Show notes

The good news is, we're almost finished with these GOAT episodes. The bad news is we were forced to revisit a season so recent that some cast members are still actively participating in Bachelor franchise shows. We discuss how our feelings have changed since originally recapping Nick's season in 2017 before the episode devolves into an extended discussion about Big Brother and the 1996 NBA Draft class. As always, thanks for listening.

Jason Mesnick's Season | 'The Greatest Seasons — Ever!' E8 Aug 14, 2020

Show notes

A look back at Jason Mesnick, whose change of heart after his finale engagement was a watershed moment for the franchise and delivered television so compelling it would have made Christof from The Truman Show jealous. Unfortunately, his GOAT episode was a bit lacking, so Rim and AB were sidetracked even more than usual this week. Thanks for listening, and for your patience!

Unrelated to reality TV: Most of eastern Iowa — including our hometown, Cedar Rapids — experienced an inland hurricane on Monday. Thousands of homes and businesses were damaged from in excess of 100 mph, causing countless downed trees and power lines. Nearly the entire city of 150,000+ will be without electricity for another week, if not longer. The clean-up will take months.

We know a lot of people are hurting for a lot of reasons at the moment, but if you're able, we would deeply appreciate if you considered donating to one of these local organizations helping people who need food and assistance right now:

Ali Fedotowsky's Season | 'The Greatest Seasons — Ever!' E7 Aug 05, 2020

Show notes

First things first: There was seismic news this week regarding the upcoming season of The Bachelorette. If you do not know this news and want to enter the season completely and totally unspoiled, we suggest you skip to at least the 16:00 minute mark.

Ali's season though, huh? What a love story. "Rated-R" was there for the Rated WRONG reasons after all, haha. And Frank, how did that cutie let Ali slip away? Rim and AB put aside the man drama to discuss another classic Bachelor season.

Brad Womack's Seasons | 'The Greatest Seasons — Ever!' E6 Jul 22, 2020

Show notes

Brad Womack's two stints as the Bachelor may not have ended happily ever after, but his seasons did provide plenty of discussion-worthy moments. Plus: Not one, not two, but *three* future Bachelorettes.

Alex and Trista's Seasons | 'The Greatest Seasons — Ever!' E5 Jul 09, 2020

Show notes

It's not just the baggy suits -- the first seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette were totally different than the shows we watch today. We discuss the breakneck pace at which Alex and Trista narrowed down their potential mates and the fact that just about everyone involved wasn't entirely sure what was going on most of the time.

(P.S. Scroll down for a disclosure that may or may not ruin the episode for you.)

(Full disclosure/inside baseball: Here's the deal...when we initially recorded this episode, Rim had just upgraded some software which reset some items to their default settings, resulting in a nearly unlistenable file. So Rim re-recorded his parts, which means he had to pretend as if he was conversing with AB in real time when in fact he was not. The result is a subpar episode, plain and simple. I'm embarrassed by it, and frankly I won't blame you if you skip it. In any event, thank you for your patience. We'll be back to normal for the next episode.)

JoJo Fletcher's Season | 'The Greatest Seasons — Ever!' E4 Jul 01, 2020

Show notes

Revisiting JoJo's (mostly) fairy tale season made Rim and AB realize how wrong we were about nearly the entire cast from 2016. Plus: Who's really the next Bachelor here, Tyler or "Tyler's friend" Matt?

Ben Higgins' Season | 'The Greatest Seasons — Ever!' E3 Jun 24, 2020

Show notes

Ben's season was the first Rim and AB watched together back in 2016, so we hold the respectful lead in high regard. How does it hold up? We discuss Rim's full rewatch and this week's truncated Bachelor GOAT episode featuring a whole lot of Zoom and not enough footage.
