    REShow: Daniel Jeremiah - Hour 2 (08-30-21) Aug 30, 2021
    Show notes

Rich begins the hour reacting to the controversy in New York where Mets SS Javier Baez and other players have turned tables on booing fans by flashing a double thumbs down signal toward the crowd.

NFL Network Analyst Daniel Jeremiah tells Rich how the 49ers could utilize rookie QB Trey Lance in their offense even if he doesn’t win the starting QB job over Jimmy G and why the Patriots should make Mac Jones their QB1 for Week 1, if Trevor Lawrence’s “crisp” pre-season finale is a harbinger of things to come and why the Bears would be better served by starting Justin Fields sooner rather than later, if the Dolphins trading for Deshaun Watson would be a smart move in the face of Tua Tagovailoa’s impressive pre-season, and which AFC teams could surprise some people this season.

Mets fan TJ Jefferson wraps up the hour reacting to the ‘Thumbs Down” controversy brewing in New York.

    Show notes

Rich kicks off the hour breaking down the latest on the NFL QB landscape from potential MVP candidates like Josh Allen to the all the rookies vying for starting jobs over incumbent veterans.

Rich reacts to the latest rumors and reports on a possible Deshaun Watson trade to the Miami Dolphins.

NBC Sports’ Peter King tells Rich why he finds it hard to believe a team would trade for Watson given the uncertainty surrounding his legal situation and how that could impact his ability to play on the field, the season-ending ACL injury suffered by Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins and if the NFL should consider shortening the pre-season to 2 games, which teams have impressed him and which teams have surprised him this pre-season, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers’ chances to repeat as Super Bowl champions this season, and who wins the Patriots QB competitions between Cam Newton and Mac Jones and why Bill Belichick’s squad will be a tough out in the AFC EA.

Rich wraps up the hour recapping the epic playoff between Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Cantlay at the BMW Championship and (alas) considers offering up his “The Patural” nickname to the PGA Tour golfer.

‘Brother from Another’ Co-host Michael Smith and Rich discuss if a Damian Lillard to the Sixers trade makes sense and if the Bucks should shock the world and trade for the Blazers all-world shooting guard, and why the Warriors’ internal beef from years ago is still simmering between Draymond Green, Kevin Durant and Steve Kerr.

The hour wraps up with Rich with reflecting on Nate Burleson’s final show on NFL Network’s ‘Good Morning Football.’

ESPN College Football Analyst Ryan Leaf tells Rich why he’s still a bit peeved by losing to Michigan in the 1998 Rose Bowl, if this is the year UCLA’s Chip Kelly finally rediscovers his winning ways in the college game, why the Oklahoma Sooners are poised for a big season but Texas Longhorns fans should expect more mediocrity in Steve Sarkisian’s first year, and if it’s wise for NFL teams to throw their rookie QBs into the fire right off the bat instead of giving them time to adjust to the pro game first.

Rich wraps up the hour revealing his top two pet peeves about College Football: Game lengths and Overtime rules.

With the NFL set to release its Top Ten players list, Rich runs through his 1 through 10 of the league’s top players.

Rich and the guys wrap up the hour discussing why the New York Giants could be really good…or really bad this season. Or maybe mediocre??
