    #278 | Dan Goldenberg | Call of Duty Endowment | On A Mission Dec 12, 2021
    Show notes

Dan Goldenberg of the Call of Duty Endowment returned to the show to talk about COD Endowment. Did you know that the endowment is partnered with organizations like Hire Heroes USA to help veterans find HIGH-quality jobs? AMVETS? And a bunch more. They aren’t all talk, with over $53 million given so far to help veterans find employment. Get this….100% of donations go to veteran employment.

Yes, I am nearing 50. Yes, I’ve been a gamer for 20+ years. Yes, I am rapidly approaching Prestige 4. Yes, I am bragging lol. Gaming is ageless in my opinion. I just like to escape behind a screen for a bit and talk smack with friends. I remember post-OIF that I would game for hours with a VERY diverse crew; from farmers, truck drivers, vets, cops, and even some factory workers from Saskatchewan Canada. Some of the best chats were in a COD game.

More to follow on this in-depth interview with Dan when the episode drops this Monday morning on ALL major podcast platforms, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube, Facebook Podcast, and Vimeo. Make sure to download the Call of Duty Endowment (C.O.D.E.) - Timeless Pack!

    #273 | Ted Andre & Fred Burton | Assassinated | Part 2 | The Hunt Begins Dec 07, 2021
    Show notes

The Protectors Podcast ™ The assassin slips from the tree line, firing five shots into Colonel Joseph Alon, then seemingly ghosts into the shadows. In the 1970s information flowed at a snail’s pace, a BOLO (Be-On-The-Lookout) did not reach the intended audience for hours or days. An international watchlist was nothing compared to what we have today. Joseph’s assassin slipped away without a trace. In this episode, we discuss what the world was like in the 1970s from culture to technology. A further dive into Ted’s father and Fred’s background. Come along as we tell this story.
    Guests:
Ted Andre is an award-winning Producer and Production Executive, who has successfully developed and produced cutting-edge, critically acclaimed independent content for theatrical, television, and web release. He is Managing Partner and co-founder of Blue Blood Films, and Black Market Entertainment (BME).
Fred Burton is a former police officer, special agent, and New York Times best-selling author. He's served on the front lines of high-profile investigations like the hunt for and arrest of Ramzi Yousef, the mastermind behind the first World Trade Center bombing; the 1988 plane crash of PAK-1 that killed U.S. Ambassador Arnold Raphel and Pakistani President Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq; and the search for Americans kidnapped by Hezbollah in Beirut, Lebanon.
Make sure to pick up Fred’s book CHASING SHADOWS for the in-depth story of the hunt!

#272 | Melissa Robey Discusses Police / Community Relations & Governor Elect Youngkin Dec 02, 2021
    Show notes

SPECIAL REPORT: Melissa Robey of WE BACK BLUE joined the show to talk about the organization’s origins, bridging the public and police divide, and the Toys For Tots drives across the area, including this weekend with Governor Elect Youngkin lending a hand. Melissa also discusses ways that Gov. Elect Youngkin has reached out to law enforcement during the campaign, building coalitions.

WE BACK BLUE’s mission is to give communities the opportunity to build trust and advocate for their police. We will support police initiatives working diligently to ensure departments across the country are well-equipped and safe to carry out their duty to protect and serve.

TOYS FOR TOTS: Chantilly, VA. For the second year, We Back Blue will partner with the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Department of Transportation to collect toys for children in need. The event will be held on Saturday, December 4th from 12:00pm-4:00pm in the parking lot of the Target store in Chantilly, VA. All collections will go to Toys for Tots, whose primary mission is to “help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America's less fortunate children.” There will be a drive-through toy drop-off as well as the opportunity to take pictures with a cruiser, Marines in uniform, Santa, and other very special guests. We also partnered with a law enforcement family-owned coffee/cocoa truck, Roll Call Room Cafe’s Mobile. Toys for Tots has unfortunately seen a drastic reduction in donations. On average, they collect over 100,000 toys to be distributed to kids in need. This year they are in greater need, and we are going to do our part to help! Our goal is to raise awareness for this incredible event, while also helping to make up some of the shortfalls they’ve experienced due to the pandemic. Last year We Back Blue collected 500 toys, this year our goal is 1500 plus.

Location: Target located at 14391 Chantilly Crossing Ln., Chantilly, VA 20151.
