And how do we who are married or coupled help reshape culture’s perspective on being single?
Join us for a special Valentines Day episode with Robin’s best friend, Lori Hutsell, a single woman who has learned to love her singleness.

Signs You Might Benefit from Therapy With Dr. Denise Bickel Jan 18, 2022
    Show notes

Imagine going your entire life without seeing a doctor; without getting your blood pressure checked, without routine lab work, or even a pelvic exam. Sounds ludicrous, doesn't it? Yet, that is exactly how the majority of Americans care for their mental health.
Depending on the statistic or study, only around 40 percent of American adults have seen a mental health expert at some point in their life. Maybe it's because of the stigma surrounding it or maybe it's because we don't really know when we need one. And if we know we need one, how do we find one? Or afford it?
Join us and Dr. Denise Bickel for this episode, as she shares her expertise on when it might be time to seek a counselor and how to find one that provides the biggest impact.
    Guest:
Dr. Denise Bickel, PhD, MSW, LCSW, has decades of experience as a mental health professional and as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver. Denise is also an avid Crossfit participant and former triathlete and marathoner. She is also Robin's mentor.

How to Give Yourself the Gift of Body Acceptance Dec 21, 2021
    Show notes

No matter what study you read on body image, the results are disturbing. One says that more than 90 percent of women are unhappy with their bodies. Another says that 46 percent of 9-11 year-old girls are “sometimes” or “very often” on diets, and 82 percent of their families are ‘”sometimes” or “very often” on diets. And it's not just an issue for women. It's reported that more than a third of all men are unhappy with their bodies and 20 percent say they would consider plastic surgery.
But why? Why are we so unhappy with ourselves? Where did we learn what our bodies "should" look like? And what would it take for us to be "happy?" To help us answer these questions, we turn to Certified Health and Wellness Coach Shelby O'Keefe in this episode.
    Special Guest: Shelby O'Keefe
Shelby is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and an ADAPT Certified Functional Health Coach (A-CFHC). In addition, she is a 200 Registered Yoga Instructor with an emphasis in Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Her expertise is in positive psychology, body and mind connection and empathetic communication.
