Episode 54 - The Worst Hard Time Jan 06, 2010
    Show notes

I’m currently listening to an audio book called, “The Worst Hard Time: The Untold Story of Those Who Survived The Great American Dust Bowl,” by Timothy Egan. It’s history, but it’s told in an interesting way. I’m only through the first few chapters, but I’m struck by the hard living that the people in the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles had to endure. Quite interesting, and a stark reality check for any prepper that thinks they can just roll back their standard of living to a sustenance level of survival. Sure, you can do it, but why?

Episode 48 - Current Economy and the US Dollar Index Nov 19, 2009
    Show notes

Things have been pretty busy here on the home front and it seems that some of the only "free" time I have is when I'm driving to and from work. My iPhone has a Voice Memo app, so I thought I'd try it for mobile podcasting. The audio quality isn't great, but I think it's acceptable. Let me know what you think. The first attempt at recording the podcast while driving didn't work out so well. "There's an app for that," but apparently it doesn't like long recordings. Semper Gumby. Anyway, let me know what you think of the audio quality and if it's worth listening to. Today I talk about the increasing prices of gold and silver, and the coming collapse of the US Dollar.

    Episode 47 - Using A Camping Stove As A Backup Cooking Source Part 2 Nov 12, 2009
    Show notes

Continuing a discussion on food and cooking. Topics include canning, food storage tips, alternate cooking tips, making bread, and of course, using a camping stove as a backup cooking source.

    Episode 46 - Using A Camping Stove As A Backup Cooking Source Part 1 Nov 06, 2009
    Show notes

Rob and Greg talk about the massive amount of guns and ammunition that is being bought up by Americans. We are seeing this first hand in our local areas. This is a good example of why we prep and stock up when we can, because when something happens, it usually happens pretty fast and you can end up short and unprepared. Main topic for this podcast is using a camping stove as a backup cooking source and cooking in general. We also talk about using Propane for emergency cooking on a converted Coleman Stove to increase the flexibilty of the stove.
