A pre-TPNx special! Captain Larry Radford from United Airlines joins the program to chat about his 30+ years in the industry; 25 of them being at United. This is a perspective any United hopeful cannot go without. There is so much great info in here and Captain Radford gives it to us in a concise format.

We also talk a lot about how to project the best you and how to give back; it's amazing that when you give, you get so much more back in return. (Adam's hot tip: This really helps on resumes and applications!) Numbers are important, but how to become one of those success stories is where the rubber meets the road.

We are amped for Captain Radford and the United team to join us at TPNx this week. We hope you are too!

TPNx Update: Meet and Greets Apr 06, 2024
    Show notes

In this episode, Adam Uhan discusses TPNX meet and greets, interactions with United recruiters, and the importance of open-mindedness when choosing airlines. He delves into a case study of a Marine's journey in airline selection, explores diverse job opportunities in aviation, and emphasizes the role of research in career expansion. The episode concludes with the normalization of the pilot hiring process and the community benefits of TPNX.

A lot of questions have cropped up around the meet and greet scheduling with American and United. This episode touches on those challenges and a little peek behind the scenes. Bottom line: Stay patient and keep a smile on your face! Much easier said than done at times like this, but it is the only way to deal with the turbulent world of aviation.

Another thing that this episode discusses is having a goal airline or job is truly a great thing, but it shouldn't close off other opportunities that may come your way. Keep every option on the table; things are changing in aviation...again. Becoming inflexible is going to create more harm than good and could put you in a tight spot down the road. This wisdom holds true for the entirety of your career, not just TPNx.

We appreciate your patience, support, and belief. The TPNx team is going to do its level best to ensure as many pilots get to see a recruiter from one of their top airline choices. This is a great time to hack the clock, take a breath, and chill for a minute. We got your back!

Slow downs, pauses, and hiring...oh my! Mar 15, 2024
    Show notes

In this episode, Adam Uhan discusses the current state of the aviation industry, recent changes, and the release of the TPNX app. He provides a historical perspective on the airline industry, invites industry experts, and predicts market trends. The episode also offers career advice for aspiring pilots, explores other opportunities in aviation, and discusses how The Pilot Network supports pilots.

Alright everyone, the game is changing...at least a little bit. Let's not get too crazy; the Dude abides. This is just a little chat to soothe those jangled nerves and hack the clock.

This industry is cyclical and we have seen slow downs in the hiring wave before. It was time for a little chat to discuss what is going on, how I see it. It's probably wrong and crystal balls are pretty useless, but it's a good pre-primer for TPNx.

Voluntary Return to FUN!! Adam Rants... Feb 17, 2024
    Show notes

In this episode, Adam Uhan discusses the Air Force's voluntary retiree return to service program, reflects on their personnel management history, and explores reasons for early retirements from the guard reserve. He suggests improvements for the Air Force's future personnel, emphasizes the importance of teamwork, and critiques the voluntary return to active duty program. The episode wraps with TPNX and pilot network updates.

Were you tired of having some modicum of control over your life? Sick of the time connecting with family, hobbies, new career, or company? If you made it back to the cockpit, did you realize that working a desk job in the mindless bureaucracy of the military staff was truly your 'life fit'? Well do I have good new for you!! You can go back to your active duty Air Force life at no cost to you or the DoD!

This Air Force Times article was the catalyst for a quick op-ed episode on the insanity of the program. Thinking more on it, I am not surprised; a few might go back because of extenuating circumstances or trouble adapting to civilian life. It's an even more cruel program when thought about that way...but that is just, like, my opinion man. What is your's?
