The Rob Burnett Interview is featured on The Paul Leslie Hour.

Hey, folks! Thanks for tuning in and dropping in on… The Paul Leslie Hour. David Letterman and his company Worldwide Pants are household names. Dave has been in the news lately because his show on Netflix, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction is debuting the fourth season on May 20, 2022.

Some years ago, Paul had a chance to speak with Rob Burnett of Worldwide Pants, Incorporated. Rob Burnett is a man who has worn a lot of hats, or as we say in this interview, has a lot of titles, but what you’ll find is a man who seems to really enjoy his work…whatever it may be. Many people know Rob Burnett as a producer or the President & CEO of Worldwide Pants, the company owned by enduring talk show host David Letterman.

In this talk, Rob talked with Paul about his project We Made This Movie. We Made This Movie is about five high school seniors who create what they believe will be a blockbuster movie. Perhaps they are overestimating their own importance, but they decide to film every single “behind-the-scenes” moment. This is where the real magic is, and we hope you not only take a moment to listen to Mr. Burnett talking about the film, but also will watch it for yourself!

The Brian Ray Interview is featured on The Paul Leslie Hour.

We’re honored to have you tuning in for an especially magical episode featuring an ultra talent in live and recorded music: Brian Ray.

Paul was asked not long ago, who he has interviewed that was “Just plain cool.” Paul thought about it and said, “Hmmm. Coolest, you said?” He was reminded of an in-person interview he recorded with Brian Ray at a Ritz Carlton hotel back in 2005. As you’ll soon hear, Brian Ray is just a cool, laidback kind of guy. Well, he did grow up in Southern California.

Now, about Brian Ray… He’s a guitarist, singer, songwriter, recording artist, producer. He’s appeared on some great recordings of artists ranging from Etta James, Paul McCartney, Steve Goodman, Willy DeVille, Stephen Bishop, Smokey Robinson and Shakira, etcetera! He’s also toured with Paul McCartney for the last 20 years playing lead, rhythm and bass guitar.

Brian was on tour with Paul McCartney and was kind enough to meet up with Paul. Jeff Pike, Paul’s good buddy recorded the interview as well as some acoustic / vocal performances.

At the time of the interview you’re about to hear, Brian Ray was releasing his debut solo album, “Mondo Magneto.” You’ll get to hear a couple of those songs “recorded live.” You’ll probably want to get the record, which you can get on Amazon or Apple Music. It’s a really phenomenal record featuring some great songwriting, one song even features the late Etta James.

You can also, if you feel up to it, help us in our mission to keep telling the human story. Just go to http://www.thepaulleslie.com/support and we thank everyone who is contributing.

We really hope you enjoy this show with the talented and laidback Brian Ray. Let’s get into the show, shall we?

Tim Glancey was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 1958 and passed away in Key West, Florida in the year 2017. He was 58 years old. Tim Glancey was a magician and entertainer. He also lead walking tours in Key West, Florida. One particularly renowned tour was called “Trails of Margaritaville.” That walking tour took people to many of the places in Key West that played a part in the history of singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett. As you’ll hear in this interview, Jimmy Buffett did, in fact, play a part in Tim’s story.

Paul first met Tim Glancey face-to-face at a place that used to exist called Hemingway’s Tropical Bar and Grill in Marietta, Georgia. That meeting was part of what lead to this interview that was recorded in Key West, Florida. Paul was very honored to sit down and chat with Tim about his very interesting life. Tim Glancey made quite an impression on people and brought a lot of magic into the world. … Okay. Let’s go back to the time this was recorded.
