    The longtime musical director of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band, Mr. Utley first worked with Jimmy Buffett in January of 1973 for the album A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean and continued collaborating on stage and in the studio until Buffett’s passing.

    Our guest on this episode is rock and roll royalty. We present Paul Edward Leslie’s interview with guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and recording artist Bruce Kulick. Bruce has toured and recorded with a variety of artists including Meat Loaf, the Good Rats, Billy Squier, Blackjack, and for 12 years toured with the hottest band in the land...KISS.

    We’re bringing this interview out of the archives because KISS is at an important point in the story of the band. KISS will play their final show on December 2nd, 2023 at Madison Square Garden. This interview with Bruce Kulick was originally broadcast on the radio in the summer of 2007, never to be heard again until now.

    Bruce Kulick has three solo albums of his own. They’re really amazing records! He currently plays lead guitar with Grand Funk Railroad, and has appeared on albums alongside everyone from Paul Stanley and Todd Rundgren to Michael Bolton. and even with all of these inspiring accomplishments he loves his fans and is a down-to-earth guy.

    Listen, in the 20 years that Paul has been interviewing interesting folks, one person has appeared more than any other: Peter Mayer. Maybe you’ve heard Peter Mayer’s music and are under his spell as well.

    Peter Mayer is a phenomenal singer-songwriter and guitarist. If you’ve seen Peter Mayer live, you know it’s the best show in town. Peter also heads the Little Flock Music record label and fronts the Peter Mayer Group. He was Jimmy Buffett’s lead guitarist starting in 1989.

    The second interview of Peter Mayer was broadcast on the radio to get the word out about Peter’s album “Still in One Peace.” If you’re looking it up that’s p-e-a-c-e. Peter Mayer talked about the “Still in One Peace” album and about writing songs with Mac McAnally. In recent years he was a member of the Allman Betts Band and Devon Allman Project.

    We’ve got an interview to the archives with Maggie Estes White, this originally went out on the radio the last day of 2007 and early 2008. She was Maggie Estes then, and here’s a tidbit… this is the shortest radio interview Paul ever did.

    He was very proud to welcome Maggie Estes White, a celebrated fiddler. The interview got a great reaction from listeners.

    Maggie’s love is the fiddle and she’s been playing since she was four years old. At the time of this interview she was seventeen. Although her first musical passion was the violin, her shows also feature the mandolin and Irish step dancing. Maggie is a champion fiddler, writes songs, has made some very warmly-received albums and in the past toured and recorded with singer-songwriter Peter Mayer.
