    Arlene Dahl is an iconic actress and tomorrow happens to be her birthday! By her own admission, Arlene Dah has had an "amazing life” and her zest for living is evident in this interview. Arlene Dahl has starred in 30 films, 19 stage plays, and authored 16 best-selling books on topics ranging from beauty to relationships. She is forever known as one of the great beauties in motion pictures with her trademark red hair and for being paired with Hollywood’s most famous leading men. Arlene Dahl was a former MGM contract star and is known for starring in "Reign of Terror,” "Slightly Scarlet,” "Journey to the Center of the Earth,” and many others. "Three Little Words,” the musical film biography that tells the story of songwriters Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby, starred Arlene Dahl along with Fred Astaire, Red Skelton and others.

    Rhubarb Jones was a legendary country music radio personality. He held the distinction of being the longest running morning radio personality in Atlanta, having been a fixture at 106.7 FM on the radio dial for more than 23 years. Rhubarb Jones held many honors including being an inaugural inductee of the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame. He was also well known for his charity efforts, raising money and awareness for a variety of causes. He was a man of many interests among them acting. Jones appeared in the television show In the Heat of the Night and motion pictures like Remember the Titans. His last years were involved in Academia. He passed away in April of 2017.

    This morning he was on my mind and I listened to this interview with him and was reminded of his incredible personality and perspective. I found that coincidentally tomorrow would have been his 67th birthday. Listen to this interview with Rhubarb Jones and do something nice for someone else today in his memory.

    Johnny Pizza, along with his business partner Roger Diaz, own the charming Hoboken Cafe on Whitlock in Marietta, Georgia. They’ve become famous for their amazing meatball sandwiches, their delicious salads and cheesecakes and especially for the most tender fresh mozzarella cheese you’ll ever taste. Mr. Pizza makes it himself, every morning, and he cooks with joy and passion for his faithful customers at the Hoboken Cafe.

    Back in the day, he used to not only cook, but also take care of the transportation and security of some remarkable people. Pat Cooper, Frank Sinatra and his son, Frank Sinatra Jr., Joan Collins, Liza Minnelli and many other famous entertainers of yesteryear, they all worked with Mr. Pizza and trusted him in essential aspects of their lives. Born and raised in the town of Hoboken, New Jersey, this guy that came from very quiet beginnings really did good in life. He had the chance to spend time with the likes of Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, Elizabeth Taylor – who actually brought out his birthday cake one night in Las Vegas! – Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt and anybody who is anybody in Hollywood and around the globe.

    In this interview, originally broadcast on FM radio and featured in the international bilingual magazine LaRevista.ro, Johnny Pizza shares his incredible experiences and tells the story of his life.

    Earl Rose is a pianist, composer, conductor, performing and recording artist. An Emmy award-winner and 14-time Emmy nominee, Rose has also won 3 ASCAP awards. Earl Rose is a popular performer at The Carlyle, the landmark hotel located at 35 East 76th Street in the Upper East Side of New York City.

    In the pop music world, Rose is the co-writer of some multi-platinum selling songs. Every Beat of My Heart is a song he wrote with the recording artist Bryan McKnight. With songwriter Victoria Shaw and Olivia Newton-John he wrote the song Love is a Gift which Olivia Newton-John recorded. Peabo Bryson recorded I Found Love which he co-wrote with Rose. The legendary vocalist Johnny Mathis recorded two Earl Rose songs: Every Beat Of My Heart and Right From The Heart.

    Peter Erskine is a lifelong drummer known for the diversity of his work. He's appeared on over 700 albums and film scores, 50 albums have been recorded with Erskine as bandleader or co-leader. Some of the bands and artists he's worked with include Weather Report, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Diana Krall, Pat Metheny, and many more.     Eric Andersen is a singer-songwriter and recording artist. Since his 1965 debut album, he's recorded more than 2 dozen records. His songs have been covered by the likes of Johnny Cash, Judy Collins, Linda Ronstadt, The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and others. 2018 saw the release of the double CD set The Essential Eric Andersen.

    Rolling Stone magazine said “Andersen is the most elegant of singers.” The New York Times called him “A singer and songwriter of the first rank."     Patrick Williams was a musician, composer, producer, conductor, arranger, big-band jazz leader and music educator. Born April 23, 1939, he sadly passed away Wednesday morning (July 25, 2018). Prolific is a word defined by Webster’s as producing abundantly. When it came to Patrick Williams, the word suited him. He composed the music for over 65 feature films, 100 television films, 25 television series, and on top of that his 19 albums and 30 concert works.

    Patrick Williams was recognized for his work in jazz and popular music. “Duets” and “Duets II,” the last two albums of Frank Sinatra were arranged and conducted by Williams. He worked with everyone from Andrea Bocelli, Paul Anka, Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, Gloria Estefan, and Barry Manilow just to name a few.

    In this interview recorded in 2016, the affable Williams shared the story of his prolific career. This podcast episode is being presented in honor of his memory. You're invited to listen.

    Tony Arata is a singer-songwriter originally from Savannah, Georgia. Songs he wrote have been recorded by other recording artists including Trisha Yearwood, Patty Loveless, Emmylou Harris, Don Williams, Randy Travis and Bonnie Raitt. However, he's most known as being the writer of "The Dance," the hit song of musical artist Garth Brooks.

    This interview was originally broadcast on the radio. It was in 2011, Tony Arata and other writers had performed at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, Georgia. Days later, he made the time to check in by telephone. The next year Arata was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. We hope you enjoy this interview with one of the greatest songwriters in American music!
