The Patrick LabyorSheaux with Patrick Labyorteaux

Latest Episodes:

Samm Levine - from Geek to Basterd Jun 16, 2026

Show notes

With 130+ credits spanning Freaks & Geeks, Inglourious Basterds, and Wet Hot American Summer, Samm Levine has been everywhere — but it all started with a terrible William Shatner impression and a bar mitzvah gig in New Jersey.

Patrick sits down with his "mystery friend" Samm to trace the wildest origin story in Hollywood: kid comic on the North Jersey mitzvah circuit, youngest member ever inducted into the Friars Club, and the guy who landed Freaks & Geeks because Judd Apatow thought his Shatner impression would give Paul Feig a laugh.

Scott Lawrence - From JAG to Darth Vader Jun 04, 2026

Show notes

Actor Scott Lawrence joins host Patrick to catch up on a career that somehow spans the Star Wars universe, Avatar, multiple Star Trek films, X-Men, Quantum Leap, and a decade playing Commander Sturgis Turner on JAG — and he's got stories for all of it.

We're talking about the moment a freshman acting class changed everything, what it was like sitting next to James Earl Jones at a defendant's table for a week, why Whoopi Goldberg's sitcom had Jean Stapleton and still didn't work, and the $63,000 residual check that came in from a little movie called Avatar (though Scott thought it was going to be more).

Plus: the most Hollywood moment of Scott's life involves Suzanne Pleshette shouting across a Beverly Hills restaurant. You'll want to hear it.

If you've ever wondered who's been voicing Darth Vader in video games since 1994... you're about to find out. And yes, he does the voice at the end. Your answering machine will never be the same.

Show notes

Matthew and Gunnar Nelson — sons of Ricky Nelson, grandsons of Ozzie & Harriet — talk with Patrick about their new book “What Happened to Your Hair?” They cover growing up in the middle of music royalty without knowing it, paying off $4.5 million in debt at 18, how grunge ended their career overnight, the business realities of the music industry, and why they're still out there doing it 35 years later. Gunnar also talks about the fan letter he's kept in his safe for decades that explains everything about why they never quit.
