Spotlight on The Polaroid Ghost Nov 12, 2024

Show notes

Since the earliest days of photography, people have been captivated by the idea of spirits captured on film. Though many ghost photos have proven to be the result of clever hoaxery, the possibility of capturing the unknown in this way, lingers still. Legitimate attempts have been made, cameras are ever utilized in our modern day ghost investigations. But the reality is that even in our most earnest of attempts, it would seem many in the spirit world either can’t or don’t actually want their picture taken. That was not the case for the ghost in today’s episode.

John Huckert had heard the noises. Seen the moving shadows. Sensed the presence. But nothing could’ve prepared him for the confirmation he would capture after aiming his camera at an empty doorway and pressing the button. Nor could he have imagined the year’s long conversation with the other side that would ensue.

Today’s spotlight episode focuses on the fascinating Ghostwriter story from the 1990’s, involving two men, a polaroid camera and a ghost named Wright.

Halloween Bonus; A Powerful, Polish Poltergeist with Translator of The Elusive Force, Joel Stern Oct 31, 2024

Show notes

Joel Stern joins me to discuss one of the most documented and thoroughly scientifically studied Poltergeist cases in history. Now, thanks to Anomalist Books and Joel’s tenacity, after almost 40 years, this story can now be known by the rest of the world thanks to his incredible translation in the recently released book, The Elusive Force.

In the spring of 1983, 13 year old Joasia Gajewski and her family suddenly began to experience an attack by an unseen, threatening and often violent force. Joasia herself, began to exhibit astounding paranormal and psychokinetic abilities. This activity would be met by superstitious fear by the locals, skeptical disbelief and unsatisfactory explanations by authorities. But Joasia’s case would also catch the attention of several Polish scientists who, over the course of 40 months would administer tests and conduct experiments under controlled laboratory conditions in an attempt to provide answers to one of the wildest, yet most compelling cases of poltergeist and psychokinetic activity that I have ever heard.

Author, Spiritual Director & Jungian Coach, Brandy Anderson Oct 15, 2024

Show notes

Brandy Anderson is an author, Spiritual Director and Jungian Coach. After many years spent wrestling with existential questions in a Christian context and coming away with less than satisfying answers, her path took her on a journey of deep study and exploration of the existential concepts most people have spent considerable time pondering. In 2021 an unexpected paranormal experience would bring her contemplative spirituality and exploration into sharp focus with searing existential clarity. A years long and still ongoing conversation with the other side that all began with a simple, “Hello”.

In her recently released book, Through the Veil; A Glimpse into the Afterlife, Brandy shares the truths she has learned on her journey and from those on the other side about karma, heaven and hell, reincarnation, what happens when we die and how that should impact the way we live now.

Hauntings Oct 09, 2024

Show notes

There is a vast spectrum to consider when it comes to a haunting.

Today, we revisit the difference between residual versus intelligent before diving into what intelligent can actually mean. Surprisingly, a lot!

From benign to malevolent, from human to demonic, today we consider examples of what it actually looks like to be haunted and the extent to which some go. We also consider preventative measures you could take to avoid them and should you already find yourself in the midst of one, I share recommendations on how to make it stop.

A Conversation with Paranormal Investigator & Owner of the Knight House, Eric Freeman Sims Sep 24, 2024

Show notes

Eric Freeman Sims is a paranormal investigator and host of the well known Unseen Paranormal Podcast. He also owns and operates the historic and haunted, Knight House of Hopkinsville, KY.

In its 200 year old existence, the Knight House has welcomed numerous families and their descendants through it’s doors, including the notable and affluent Knight and Rogers families. It has also played its fair share in history, serving as a hospital during the Civil War and a possible stop on the Underground Railroad. It is no wonder there is haunted activity reported and documented regularly with such a long and active history.

Today, I spoke with Eric about that history and the paranormal activity he and his family have experienced since taking ownership of it. We also discuss early experiences and paranormal investigating, his take as a skeptical empath, features of the house like secret tunnels and a door meant for the Dead and…Ghost birds.

A History of Ghosts & Hauntings Sep 17, 2024

Show notes

The idea that a person’s spirit, their essence, can linger following the death of the physical body is an ancient one. Ghosts have haunted both the human psyche and the human for millennia. It is a deeply rooted belief and occurrence that crosses all borders of human kind and era. Simply put - History is rife with ghosts.
