This episode is uncut. No edits. No do-overs.
I'm sharing another "first" in my first year of grief over my father's death.
I talked about navigating my grief in episode 9 of the podcast.
What I didn't share in episode 9 is some of the shame I carried from a secret.
Shame from a secret I knew I needed to overcome and release.
Because with my Dad's death this secret would need to come into the light.
And I would need to process and release the shame associated with this secret.
Shame is insidious. Shame is useless. Shame tells us to stay hidden in the dark.
But I'm talking about it.
Because when we talk about these things what's in the dark comes into the light.
And it's in the light that we can experience the fullness of life.
My sincere hope is that if you too have something over which you have felt shame…or still feel it…
That you know you are not alone and that there is a path forward out of the darkness and into the light.
