Edward Epstein - Frank & Marilyn The Lives, the Loves, and the Fascinating Relationship of Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe
Dec 26, 2022
Throughout the late fifties until the time of her death, Marilyn Monroe ‘enjoyed’ a turbulent relationship with Ol’ Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra. Despite totally different personalities, the two seemed to have an on-again off-again friendship, which occasionally strayed into more. The association of the two was not without it’s dangers, particularly latterly, and Sinatra was crushed – albeit briefly – with Monroes’ tragic and mysterious passing in 1962.
Mr Epstein joins Ed Opperman to showcase his book, which is the first book to bring these two all-American icons together. Their friendship and on-and-off intimate relationship, kept secret because of powerful others in their lives, spanned seven tumultuous years. At one point, he even proposed marriage.
Dedicated biographer and entertainment world insider Edward Z. Epstein has spoken with many people who were familiar with the pair, all of whom talked about the Frank and Marilyn they knew—and the dangers they faced. It’s a fascinating, largely untold story that’s usually glossed over…until now.

Marilyn Monroe died under suspicious circumstances on the night of August 4, 1962. In The Murder of Marilyn Monroe: Case Closed, renowned MM expert Jay Margolis and New York Times best-selling author Richard Buskin finally lay to rest more than 50 years of wild speculation and misguided assertions by actually naming the screen goddess's killer. At the same time, they use the testimony of eyewitnesses to describe exactly what took place inside her house on Fifth Helena Drive in Los Angeles's Brentwood neighborhood. Implicating Bobby Kennedy in the commission of Monroe's murder, this is the first book to name the LAPD officers who accompanied the attorney general to her home, provide details about how the Kennedys used bribes to silence one of the ambulance drivers, and specify how the subsequent cover-up was aided by a noted pathologist's outrageous lies. This blockbuster volume blows the lid off the world's most notorious and talked-about celebrity death, and in the process also exposes the third gunman in the pantry who delivered the fatal bullet to the back of RFK's head - and the third gunman's female accomplice who, until now, has only been known to the LAPD and the FBI as "the girl in the polka-dot dress."

Dan Lawton - Above The Ground - A True Story of the Troubles in Northern Ireland
November 29
Kevin Barry Artt is an innocent man. His story is a tale of survival and redemption.
In 1983, a British court wrongfully convicts a 23-year-old Irishman, Kevin Barry Artt, of murdering Albert Miles, a British prison official, on behalf of the outlawed Irish Republican Army. The court sentences Kevin to a life term in Britain’s notorious Maze prison.
Seven weeks later, Kevin escapes the Maze. Overnight he becomes Britain’s most wanted fugitive in the world. Kevin makes it to California, where he lives quietly underground.
In 1992, the FBI captures and jails him. For the next eight years in the federal courts in California, Kevin fights the British government’s furious attempt to extradite him back to Northern Ireland. Aided by renowned U.S. trial lawyer Jim Brosnahan, Kevin beats extradition in 2000. But the cloud of his 1983 murder conviction still lurks overhead.
Twenty years later, on May 6, 2020, the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal vindicates Kevin at last, quashing his murder conviction based on detectives’ false testimony at his trial.

He talks to Ed Opperman about how, for thousands of years, human beings around the world have used hallucinogenic plants and fungi to alter consciousness and connect with the Divine. Although such practices faded with the rise of organized religion, the last century has seen a revival of entheogen-based spirituality in North America.
