The Non-Prophets 20.16 2021-04-14 Martin Robert, Neil the 604 Atheist, Laura Magee, Phoenix
On this week’s episode of the Non-Prophets, we discuss some great topics. Phoenix opens up the floor with some history about Madalyn Murray O’Hair, the life and times of one of the most prominent atheists in America. Next, Laura and Martin discuss how religiosity influences a greater wage gap, as opposed to more secular workforces which tend to have a smaller gap. After that, our hosts go over the ins and outs of Scientology’s monetary habits, and how they may be losing their financial foothold as a non-profit. Our fourth article is about the Freedom From Religion Foundation and how they dropped a recent lawsuit after the state they were suing accommodated the FfRF’s request...or did they? Alabama sure is a tricky one. Lastly, we get into the issue of censorship in Italy and how the grasp of religiosity has been removed from their movie industry.

Episode 20.14 of The Non-Prophets airing April 4th featuring Jena Miyu, Arden of Eden, Mikey Famine and guest host Christy Powell of Secular Sexuality.
This week’s episode starts with recent news from China and how the Chinese education system is pushing for teaching masculinity to young boys in school due to illegitimate fears of an effeminate take over. To no one’s surprise, the Catholic Church recently changed its stance on same-sex unions. Hear what the hosts have to say about the Vatican’s reasons of why Pope Francis’ original statements on same-sex unions have been taken out of context. In our “Shit Apologists Say” segment, the host comment on a recent interview from a former transgender woman, now transitioned man and Christian apologist Walt Heyer and how his faith and unfortunate experience is setting a bad precedent of misinformation regarding transgender people. In our final segment, the hosts positively reflect on the importance and meaning of March 31st, 2021, which marked the 12th annual International Transgender Day of Visibility.

The Non-Prophets episode 20.09 airing on February 28, 2021 was hosted by Martin, P*ck and guest host Jenna Belk. We aim to discuss all of these topics with an open mind and to bring a skeptical and humanist perspective to the news of the day. We discuss the passing of conservative radio hate-spewer, Rush Limbaugh. We also talk about the crippling winter storm that wiped out the Texas power grid and public water system. We touch on the issue of school vouchers and discuss what they are and how they work. And lastly, for our looking back segment, we look at Pussy Riot and how they were arrested about 9 years ago for protesting in a church.
