Show notes
In Episode 2 of The Connor O’Gara Show, Connor O’Gara is joined by Ryan Brown from The Next Round for a wide-ranging conversation on Auburn football, SEC football, college stories, parenting, youth sports and more.
Connor and Ryan start with never-before-told stories from their college days, including Ryan Brown’s unforgettable Jacksonville State journey, his golf scholarship experience, the legendary “one Spanish class away” story and the time someone in the dean’s office thought he worked at the university. Connor also shares his own nightmare Spanish class experience from college.
Then the conversation turns to Auburn Football. Connor gives his full Auburn Tigers “vibe check” and asks whether Auburn has become the “duck of the decade” in college football. The guys break down Auburn’s struggles against AP Top 25 teams, rivalry losses to Alabama and Georgia, coaching instability, the aftermath of Gus Malzahn and Bryan Harsin, the pressure on Hugh Freeze, recruiting misses, transfer portal issues and what Alex Golesh must show in 2026 to give Auburn fans hope.
Plus, Connor and Ryan discuss parenting, youth sports, golf scholarships, soccer, taekwondo, women’s flag football and the simple fatherly advice that stuck with Connor: tell your kids you love them every single day.
