The rules of the last TV debate were set by Joe Biden. And that didn’t go so well for him...Jon has an incredible story of the hours leading up to that debate and who knew what. But right now those debate rules are being re- litigated by Kamala’s team, who now say they want the mics left live. Will it happen?
Later, why is Trump now talking about women’s reproductive rights? And what does the suspension of RFKs presidential campaign actually mean for him, for Trump, and for Harris?

Star quality doesn’t come much higher than an Obama. And last night at the DNC there were two. Michelle preceded her husband, the 44th US president, as they told the crowd to “Do Something “ to get Kamala Harris elected.
This convention, these speeches, are all about the power of women. And there’s a reason that’s playing so strongly in this particular election. What will Trumps response be to what’s happening on stage in Chicago?

Since Kamala Harris took over the 2024 Democratic race Trump has been visibly suffering. He can’t work out her name, how to attack her, or even whether she reminds him of his own wife.

What does Kamala Harris see in Tim Walz that has propelled him to be her VP pick? And what lines of attack will Trump and Vance use against the pairing now?
Walz is little known in much of America - the Minnesota governor, former veteran and school coach has got progressive left policies but he is a gun owner with a love of hunting and fishing. Can he win over the men who once voted Trump?

Kamala Harris has challenged Trump to a debate in the most ‘brat‘ way possible. She’s also introduced a new vibe into the Democrat campaign which involves calling the former president ‘a bit weird’. Is it unsettling Trump? Is it emasculating him? And what form will his response take? Later we discuss the potential VP picks - Kamala Harris will pick her running mate by this time next week. And an update on Donald Trump’s marriage to Melania.

Kamala Harris has received the backing of Nancy Pelosi, George Clooney and Beyonce to name but three. She's found a million new small figure donors and got the female power of Silicon Valley behind her.
Meanwhile, Trump is having to think about how the campaign has changed overnight. Is the choice of his VP JD Vance still feeling like the right one? And who will Kamala pick to fight the campaign beside her - if she is crowned the new presidential candidate this week?
We talk to a close friend of Joe Biden - Congressman Brendan Boyle - about Biden's decision to pull out. And ask what the shape of the battle will be now?

George Clooney leads a growing list of people who have called on Joe Biden not to stand again in 2024.
Will this shift the White House thinking on this thorny matter? Or will it take former Democratic presidents to weigh in before anything changes.
Last night House Democrats seemed resigned to the status quo after their caucus behind closed doors.
Biden is currently meeting Keir Starmer and others to celebrate NATOs birthday. NATO a full six years younger than Joe. And how is Trump responding to the idea Biden might walk? He's about to choose his VP, as we gear up for the Republican National Convention next week. We'll be there.
