NEW YORK CITY - COPS UNDER ATTACK, CUOMO THREATENS TO END RESTART Jun 16, 2020
    Show notes

As the dust settles on the riots, in which 450 businesses were looted in the 5 boroughs, more light-hearted protests continue and, as Seth Barron points out, there's a good reason for that: The NY State Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio have determined that protesting the police is the ONLY sanctioned activity, and the only way people in NYC are legally allowed to gather in groups!

No doubt, this increases attendance, especially among younger New Yorkers who are sick of not hanging out with their friends. Thousands have been gathering in Brooklyn and in Washington Square Park in the Village, whether they support the cause or not.

Meanwhile, in front of a few city bars, where liquor can legally be sold to go during this time, people congregated in small groups to enjoy the warmer weather and shake off lockdown fatigue, some of them socializing in public for the first time in months.

After the city and Gov Cuomo gave the protesters their blessing to march, chant and sometimes loot and vandalize businesses throughout the city for two weeks, law-abiding New Yorkers figured they were due some slack. Nope.

Gov. Cuomo sternly admonished New Yorkers, threatened to revoke liquor licenses of bars, harass anyone socializing outside bars or in parks and publicly told the mayor that if he didn't get a handle on things, the state would step in and cancel the reopening of businesses and send us all back to our apartments, as punishment (er.. to keep us all from dying of COVID19.)

Take a Knee or Take a Stand Jun 07, 2020
    Show notes

After a while, you get sort of tired of trying to be so polite. The protesters who seem to be everywhere at once are well-funded, organized and on a mission to literally bring America to its knees. It's not to make a point about peoples' lives mattering, and don't get mad at me for telling the truth here.

Watch as these protesters force minor confrontations with police, then cry foul? Why does this particular cause suddenly involve the mob making bizarre, emasculating demands? ("Kneel before me and apologize.") Why have protesters insisted that officers march with them? Pose with them? Why are we seemingly expected to make excuses for looters robbing stores, vandals breaking windows, protesters accosting cops, blocking traffic.

Why is there ONLY ONE SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE WAY to feel about all this?

And *WHY* do our mayors and governors maintain emergency powers when the curve was flattened 2 months ago? Why do they keep insisting we cover our faces? and why do the restrictions bend so easily for protesters? Would this be allowed if there was any significant health risk? It wouldn't. There isn't, and something else is happening which badly needs to be addressed.

People's Enemy No.1: The Central Park Dog Walker, Karen. May 28, 2020
    Show notes

Karen, the Central Park Dog Walker, Public Enemies No.'s 1-5, KaronaVirus, whatever you want to call her, has found herself in a rapidly-accelerating, socially-engineered media-driven conveyance to international infamy.

She lost her job, her pet and her Social Credit Score.

The viral video in which she called the police on a black man in the Ramble of Central Park showed a fairly ugly side of her personality, but is it possible that she might've had some seemingly legit reason to fear the stranger who insisted that she leash her dog?

Was she 100% in the wrong? It turns out, no. The whole story here about these two nitwits, plus coverage of the hysteria which has now led to death threats, new hate crime legislation and a probe by the New York City Commission on Human Rights.

    Show notes

True crime doesn't get any truer than New York City Crime Report with Pat Dixon. Standup comic Pat Dixon hosts the shit out of this long-running and highly irreverent podcast detailing various aspects of crime in America's Largest City (World's loneliest town).

Here's the problem with a lot of "true crime" shows, they're not happening NOW. They serialize it, dragging out a story over several episodes. They talk about stuff that happened years ago. They bullshit you with spooky music and moralize, speculate, drop hints, take themselves too seriously or waste your time with ads and, I don't know, they mostly suck, that's how I feel.

In continuous production since 2011, NYCCR was one of the FIRST True Crime podcasts and is still the ONLY show devoted to reporting the crime happening NOW in New York City, including murders, robberies, rapes, and social-distancing violations, and it's generally funny or at least disrespectful.

Easily offended? it's not for you. Not easily offended? I don't believe you, go listen to My Favorite Murder, you donkey.

Still here? Okay, you're cool, go ahead, hope you enjoy, subscribe, share, rate, review, repeat. The show's ad-free, help me out at Patreon.com/PatDixonNYC
