Rumour: Cloud Saves Will Be Supported On All Existing Switch Games By Default - Nintendo Life — All existing games will default to “enabled”. I specifically asked Nintendo about that and had that response. If a dev/pub wants an existing game to not support it, they have to ask. When submitting a game, you are encouraged to enable cloud save. You have to have a good reason to not support it. Reasons to not support it are generally based around preventing a user abusing it to cheat in your game. I can’t think of anything beyond Animal Crossing being too concerned about players rewinding their saves, but some games that give a random weapon drop, for example, might want to also prevent rewinding.
Multiple Switch Games Including Pokémon, Splatoon, And Dark Souls Do Not Support Cloud Saves (Update: Nintendo Responds) - Game Informer — "The vast majority of Nintendo Switch games will support Save Data Cloud backup. However, in certain games this feature would make it possible to, for example, regain items that had been traded to other players, or revert to a higher online multiplayer ranki

Cosmic Star Heroine Dev Explains Its "Frustrating" Experience Working With Nintendo - Nintendo Life — "We got an okay number of reviews, but yeah, we couldn't get Nintendo to mention the game anywhere. Real shame since even a retweet from Nintendo probably would have given us a big boost in visibility. I get that it was just a port, but after spending months getting stonewalled by Nintendo when we were trying to get permission to release on Switch, going "fine, we'll play by your rules" and getting a publisher so we could get approved, and still getting ignored by Nintendo when the game was done and set to release is highly frustrating." "It's a good game and I daresay a good percent of those million+ people who bought Octopath Traveler would like our game if they knew it existed. We couldn't even get somebody to fix our store page before launch (which never indicated that the game had a preorder/early purchase sale and until just recently, didn't even have our trailer on it) and the page went up about a month before launch so there was plenty of time."

Feedback — Shawndroid wrote in on the Discord Still loving the show. I like that you focus on the facts and get through it all quickly. I do have some nitpicks for the bit about NPD sales. You covered it from multiple angle well, covering most nitpicks I wanted to send. But on the whole you contradicted yourself. Successful consoles sell more than the previous year. Every year the PS4 will sell more than the year before it. Unsuccessful consoles like the Wii U don't. If the Switch in year 2 outsells the PS4 in it's 4th year, that is massive. But overall your point was that the Switch outsold it for one random month, and that doesn't mean anything. That's right! You covered it every which way. But you implied that console sales don't increase as time goes on. Bigger library + lower cost = more sales. It would be insane if a new Nintendo system was sell better than an established Sony system, until it's successor comes along.
SoulCalibur VI Isn't in Development for Switch, but Bandai Namco Might Consider It After Launch — “At the moment there is no development for Switch at all. I understand that the Switch is a very successful hardware, and of course if there is a possibility, then it would be great to do it. At the moment we’re focusing on the October 19th launch, so we don’t even have the time to think about that possibility. After the launch we’ll think about the possibility.”

How will we talk to other in Diablo? — The game uses Nintendo’s online service, which does mean that it is one of the titles that supports cloud saves. It also unfortunately means that that it uses the Switch app for voice chat. Players who are serious about playing together might want to consider external methods for communicating with each other unless they’re very dedicated to using the Switch online app on their phones. Some Extra Diablo news is that the game will all be on the cart for the physical version, no downloads required.
