The MuscleCar Place is Proudly Presented by National Parts Depot! Visit www.nationalpartsdepot.com to purchase all of your muscle car restoration parts today.

This week marks the return of my longtime pal Mike Finnegan, live from his home garage! Mike is the co-host of Finnegan's Garage on YouTube along with his pal Dave Newbern, and stars on multiple shows on the Motor Trend including as Roadkill and Faster with Finnegan. He was also the co-host of the wildly popular and entertaining Kibbe and Finnegan podcast from 2016-2018. His mere presence and sunny disposition is a good thing of course, but he came on with an announcement you'll want to hear - tonight (May 8) he is giving away some great stuff live on Youtube!

Yes, Holley is the official EFI source for TMCP and is a PROUD sponsor of this episode! And with that said....they're also the EXHAUST source for the Kibbe and Friends Show. For you hip kids who are already on the LT swap game, have no fear. Hooker BlackHeart is pleased to announce their new LT Swap Exhaust Manifolds. These Hooker BlackHeart cast iron exhaust manifolds for the popular GM LT motor feature 2.5-inch outlets and are designed to hug close to the engine block so they fit into a wide variety of replacement and engine-swap applications. Visit Holley.com for details!

TMCP #429: The Real Scoop with NPD’s Rick Schmidt: How Will The Covid-19 Shutdown Affect The Automotive Restoration Business Economy? May 01, 2020
    Show notes

Happy May 2020! With some of the country starting to re-open I thought that this episode would be appropriate for a special edition all "Ask Rick" show with Rick Schmidt from NPD. Rick's monthly segment has been highly popular with so many of you due to his straightforward approach to all questions asked, and I specifically wanted to hear how COVID-19 is affecting the automotive aftermarket and restoration economy. The short answer is...things aren't exactly as you think they might be!

Holley, with the help of Prestige Motorsports, Dart, and TorqStorm, have concocted a 427 cubic inch, twin-supercharged combo that is capable of sending absurd levels of good old-fashioned V8 horsepower to the pavement! The retail value of all of the components totals up to $23,364.44 and all you have to do to get a shot at winning is to SIGN UP HERE! TMCP #428: Blake Foster, SpeedTech Performance USA; “Big Front Tire” Pro-Touring Suspension from the Ground Up! Apr 17, 2020
    Show notes

This week our guest was Blake Foster, President of SpeedTech Performance USA. Speedtech is known for many things, but as of late I've noticed a LOT of their product in the field, at SEMA, and at the track. The common denominator: BIG front tires are included in the suspension packaging, even on cars where there is often no practical way to do so (such as an A-Body GM car like a Chevelle or GTO). Blake's mottos is, "why make great suspension just to run a 245 tire?" With that said...I needed to know more!

Yes, Holley is the official EFI source for The MuscleCar Place Network! If that's not enough, they have just announced that with the help of Prestige Motorsports, Dart, and TorqStorm, they've concocted a 427 cubic inch, twin-supercharged combo that is capable of sending absurd levels of good old-fashioned V8 horsepower to the pavement! TMCP #427: Shag Arrington of Iron Resurrection – Real Tales of Building Awesome Cars on TV Apr 10, 2020
    Show notes

This week our guest was Shag Arrington from the hit Motor Trend automotive show "Iron Resurrection." They just wrapped their forth successful season and he came on to discuss the life and times (and realities) of what it takes to create dream cars that may take a year to create...in just an hour of screen time!

Just a reminder - Holley is not only the official EFI source for Kibbe and Friends and is the PROUD sponsor of this episode, but they are also giving away a crazy twin supercharged LS engine stuffed with every aftermarket part you can think of! The parts alone are over $20K - and all you need to do to have a shot at it is to enter the contest! Here's the link. Go get it! https://bit.ly/KAFS-Holley-LS-Sweepstakes.

TMCP #426: Kevin Brown from Junkyard Digs on Rescuing Abandoned Rusty Filthy Terrifying Cars! Ask Rick – The Dying Art of a Manual Transmission and Evaluating ’69 Camaro’s for Investment Apr 03, 2020
    Show notes

The MuscleCar Place is Proudly Presented by National Parts Depot!

This week our guest was Kevin Brown from the YouTube channel "Junkyard Digs." Kevin is currently a college student as well as an Armed Serviced Veteran. Together with his friends Luke and "Mook" they are growing an automotive adventure show centering on seeking out old abandoned (and usually gross and rusty) cars, getting then running, and documenting the mis-adventure of it all! It's somewhat like "Roadkill, The Next Generation."

TMCP #425: Larry Callahan – Twenty Years of Pro-Touring.com and Helping Make Old Cars Go Very Fast! Mar 27, 2020
    Show notes

This week is a very special show marking a huge milestone for the Pro-Touring.com web site. It has been twenty years, this March, since Larry created the first launch the infamous site. It pre-dates nearly all of social media (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook) and even most forums! Thanks to Larry, many thousand people have visited to gain knowledge regarding go-fast-old-cars and share friendships over racing and "G's". Events and businesses have formed ENTIRELY around the Pro-Touring movement and the trend of Pro-Touring cars has become as mainstream as apple pie and kids taking selfies. I believe that Larry Callahan deserves the bulk of the credit for tossing gasoline on a match - and for fostering a place to take this industry from nothing to SOMETHING! This interview was a look book at how it all began.

This weeks guests are Josh Oliver and Tony Huntimer from "Team Big Red Camaro", possibly the world's most famous '69 Camaro and a car and driver combination that has somehow become an institution in it's own right. This interview is the story of how a car and driver - that aren't interested in racing professionally - are 30 years into being the biggest baddest paradigm changing racing team ever!

TMCP #423: Kate Licitra, Vet Speed Racing, Racing ‘Vettes to Help Our Vets!! – Ask Rick, Does Win on Sunday Sell on Monday Still Work? Mar 06, 2020
    Show notes

This weeks guest is Kate Licitra, the founder and President of Vet Speed Racing, a 501c3 non profit group that uses Corvettes and racing to help alleviate PTSD. After her former military husband started to show symptoms of traumatic brain injury and Post traumatic stress disorder she knew that she had to do something. After they sold a house, she was able to purchased a Corvette as a bonus for a little track day fun, she noticed his illness started to ease a little. The release that came with the speed and "racing therapy" really helped and she knew she was on to something that she had to share with other vets.

TMCP #422: Jeff Allison: Building an AWD 1968 C-20 For YouTube; Pro-Touring Update – Street Metal Concepts on what it’s REALLY like to Build a SEMA Car! Does It Again! This Time On YouTube with a Truck! Feb 21, 2020

Take the Holley Survey and help us win you better prizes! http://bit.ly/TMCP_Podcast_Survey

TMCP: This weeks interview is with long time friend, supporter of the show, and builder of my Chevelle, Jeff Allison. He has launched a brand new project just for his YouTube Channel - the 2020 C-20. With this project he'll put a '68 C-20 GMC Truck atop a 2006 GMC Yukon XL DENALI AWD chassis and showcase the entire build on video! You can find Jeff's video channel at YouTube.com Project Car TV.

Now...with all of that said, a good part of this interview delved into the REASON to have a YouTube channel as a shop owner, period. Realistically...most people that start YouTube channels are hoping to become a big YouTube star, not to use it as a marketing tool for their business. In the case of Jeff....it's marketing now....but perhaps may convert to stardom later. Listen in for the discussion including the costs in time, money, and effort. Shop owners - listen to this one closely!

    Show notes

Take our survey for Holley...so we can find great giveaways for you! http://bit.ly/TMCP_Podcast_Survey

This weeks interview is with long time listener Derek Thomas, owner and operator of Rail & Road Auctions. Derek has been in the auction business for many years selling model trains and actual train related items, sometimes at world record sales levels. He also has a passion for the cars he grew up with in the 80's and 90's and believes the time is right for these vehicles to start gaining value.

To capture the soon to be booming 80's market, Derek decided to leverage his experience and bring a better opportunity to auction these vehicles. With his experience in the business Derek is able to utilize the same platform as the big players and offer those services to a lower dollar market. Since he is a MuscleCar Place fan, he decided it would be great to announce the service to our listeners with a discount of 25% off listing fee for your first vehicle listed and a 50% discount on your second in that auction!

If you would like to learn more about Rail & Road Auctions, and maybe take advantage of The Muscle Car Place exclusive discount, you can find the website at RaRauctions.com.

Holley is the official EFI source for the TMCP Network - and we need your help! We need your help! We're working with Holley on future things to do with the show....and we really need to know where you live and what you drive. Could you please fill out this super-duper easy four question survey for us? It would REALLY help move the ball forward for the future initiatives we have planned together. http://bit.ly/TMCP_Podcast_Survey
