MISSING: Pepita Redhair Oct 06, 2022

Show notes

According to indianlaw.org “…More than 1 in 2 Native American women have experienced sexual violence. Though available data is limited, the number of missing and murdered American Indian and Alaska Native women and the lack of a diligent and adequate federal response is extremely alarming to indigenous women, tribal governments, and communities. On some reservations, indigenous women are murdered at more than ten times the national average. Statistics define the scale of the problem, but do nothing to convey the experience of the epidemic.” Pepita Redhair is one of this Missing and murdered indigenous women. She went missing at the height of the global SARS CoV2 pandemic in March of 2020 for Albuquerque NM, where she lived with her boyfriend. This is her story.

MISSING: Emma Fillipoff Aug 18, 2022

Show notes

On the evening of November 28, 2012, 26-year-old Emma Fillipoff caught an acquaintance’s attention as she stood barefoot, hugging shoes to her chest on a street corner. Uneasy, almost nervous about crossing. She showed other signs of distress too, as she looked over her shoulder time and time again as if she were expecting someone, or something to be following her. Not knowing what else to do, the acquaintance contacted authorities who spent 45 minutes with Emma before releasing her on her own recognizance as she walked into the dark, rainy evening alone… never to be seen or heard from again.
