Interruptions! Barfing baby! Covid exposure quarantine!! Ugh. What a week, man. Today's episode with Whitney is a shitshow of chaos. Welcome to the party.

She also gives you a brief rundown about how fun it is being barfed on and offers up some preparedness tips on how to be ready for when the barfs enter your home.

Due to lots of family interruptions, she didn't get to complete all her thoughts on this, but don't worry... there's always time for another episode about dealing with the barfs. Enjoy!

Sometimes We Can't Be Funny Apr 14, 2021

In this week's episode, Whitney talks about how white people need to learn how to unpack the white supremacy that lives within them, their relationship to it, and why it's important to learn how to be anti-racist. And, how educating our children to be anti-racist is an important component when it comes to making change.

Shared in this episode, are the powerful words of Imani Payne via instagram: Real Growing Paynes on IG

"I am so tired of feeling devastated. I am so tired of loss. Of tragedy. I am tired of the heaviness in my chest. Pandemic, miscarriage, injustice after injustice after injustice. I am tired. I am tempted to retreat back to my cocoon of grief. Where I can turn off the noise and fill my soul with idyllic childhood moments like this. My cocoon where it feels safe for my son to exist. Where a traffic stop, an ignorant mistake, or a white person having a bad day aren't all life threatening situations. But I can not retreat. I can not ignore the world. I must engage in order to attempt to make things better for my boy (and yours). My heart is with every parent in this country who has dedicated their life to nurturing a Black child, to cultivating Black joy, to delicately preserving Black innocence. The world tells us our children aren't worthy of growing up. All too often we witness scenes that make us fear for the lives of our babies. We shouldn't have to carry this fear. We will post, we will talk, we will March, we will scream, we will vote, and we will burn this motherf* to the ground if we have to. We won't stop until we are heard and see change because our children's lives matter. They matter as babies and they still matter as grown ass adults. I'm so fucking tired of having to say that. #amplifymelanatedvoices #dontmesswithmama #blm #blacklivesmatter #blackboyjoy "

    I Just Need A Day, Dammit Apr 07, 2021

Sometimes we as moms and parents just need a day to ourselves to get shit done. These days don't come easy and they usually come with some guilt at times. Why is that? While I don't have the answers, hopefully I have something relatable for you. Oh, and excuse the many interruptions... I have kids and very little personal space. LOL!

    Why Aren't You Napping? Mar 24, 2021
    Show notes

In this week's episode, Whitney talks about the joys of short naps. Not by her, but by her 11 month old. Why why why won't she nap longer than 45 min?? It's probably FOMO but it could very well be that Whitney didn't sing the entire nap time song or read the correct book to make the nap perfect. Who knows?

Sometimes We Drown To Save Our Children Mar 17, 2021

    I'm Pretty F**king Tired Mar 10, 2021
    Show notes

On this week's episode, Whitney does a little mind dump about the challenges that come along with our own mental health and the health of the family. It's really difficult to separate the two, while also making sure our children know we are not robots. But how? How do we process our feelings when we are being pulled in many directions, needing to be on, and all the while trying to cope with some internal struggles. There's not many solutions, but hopefully you will find something to connect with.

In this episode of the Mother F**king Truth, Whitney gives a little insight into what led her to starting it.
