Below are all the Scriptures written out and my notes so you can follow along with the podcast "God, Jesus Christ and The Word." I'm still seeking spiritual matters and learning how to edify the church.

John 14:3 – 16 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;"

John 15:16 "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."

John 16:23 & 24 "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. 24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."

Acts 1:1 "The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,"

Jesus began in the gospel period, and in Acts, Jesus continues to do and to teach.

Mark 16:19 & 20 "So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen."

Who works within them? Jesus Christ, Christ in you. spirit

Galatians 1:1 "Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)"

Who's working? Both of them. God directs, and Jesus Christ carries it out.

1 Thessalonians 3:11 & 12 " Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. 12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:"

John 16:12 – 15 "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you."

You can know. You can ask in prayer.

Philippians 3:12 - "Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you."

By the spirit that dwells within you.

1 Corinthians 2:9 – 13 "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."

We can know the Deep things of God.

Colossians 2:2 & 3 "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

We have access to all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge as we read and study God's word.

1 Corinthians 2:16 "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."

We have Christ's eyes behind our eyes, Christ's mouth behind our mouths. We have Christ's five senses behind all our five senses. As much as blood, it makes it to every cell. We have spirit in every cell of our body. We can know the Deep things of God, and God can share them with us. When we're ready to accept them

This is a little warning for us. Listen and hear the lesson.

Deuteronomy 18:18 – 22 "I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. 20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. 21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."

This is one way to know if it is of God or not. If it is of God it will come to pass. If it doesn't come to pass is not of God.

1 John 4:1 – 6 " Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error."

Just because someone says it's of God does not mean it's of God.

    God Bless you Abundantly

    Steve

I'm announcing an online class on "How to Read the Bible for Understanding and Power." It will be offered in two ways.

One is that you could Zoom in on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon Eastern Time Zone in the United States to hear previously recorded and new augmented sessions. With discussions, question and answering time with the teacher.

The second way is to go to Steve's website and click on the recorded sessions to hear the sessions and see the syllabus, Scriptures, and notes.

Participants can use both ways to go through the class. If they miss something, they can review it on their own. The notes for each episode are in the show notes. You can schedule your own time to go through the class.

    The Notes from the Podcast

God bless you. Below are all the Scriptures written out and my notes so you can follow along with the podcast.

1 Corinthians 14:12 "Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church."

1 Corinthians 11:17 – 20 "Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse. 18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. 19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. 20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper."

When the church came together, there were some problems.

1 Corinthians 11:21 & 22 "For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. 22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not."

Problem when coming together to eat.

1 Corinthians 11:23 -32 "For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world."

Some problems arose in the communion service, such as remembering what Jesus Christ had accomplished for us.

1 Corinthians 11:33 "Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another."

They needed to learn how to care for one another.

1 Corinthians 12:1 – 6 "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all."

1 Corinthians 12:4 – 6: "Now there are diversities [different ways or kinds] of gifts [These are not gifts of the spirit but gifts of services to the body of Christ.], but the same Spirit [The same spirit that each Born Again person receives when they get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. It is the new birth spirit.]. 5 And there are differences of administrations [Differing varieties and ways of distributing services.], but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations [There are differences in the ways it works. The word operation is the word worketh.], but it is the same God which worketh all in all."

Steve Jaynes added the words in between the brackets [ ] to help you understand the meaning of the Scriptures. I do the same whenever I use the brackets within Scripture, like above.

Verses 7 – 11 Are about the Manifestations

Verses 12 – 27 Are about The One Body.

1 Corinthians 12:27 – 31 "Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way."

The better way is the way of love.

1 Corinthians 13 is sometimes called the Love chapter.

1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."

1 Corinthians 14:1 – 5 "Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. 2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. 4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. 5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying."

Verses 6 -11 Somes problems with S.I.T. In the Church.

1 Corinthians 14:12 – 15 "Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. 13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. 14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also."

1 Corinthians 14:18 & 19 " I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue."

Verses 20 -25 Handling some more problems in the church.

1 Corinthians 14:26 "How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying."

Verses 27 -39 Handling still more problems in the church.

1 Corinthians 14:40 "Let all things be done decently and in order."

The person running the meeting is responsible for seeing things run decently and in order.

    May God bless you Abundantly!

    444 – In Jesus' Name

Announcing: The Weekend in the Word

This year's weekend in the Word, the theme will be "Seeking Spiritual Matters and Edifying the Church." I am inviting teachers from around the country to teach on this vitally important subject from the accuracy of The Word.

Starting with a meal on Thursday, July 25th, at 6 pm. The weekend will close after breakfast on Sunday morning, July 28th. Be sure it is on your calendars! All the information and how to register are available on the website: https://stevejaynes.com/events

    The Notes from the Podcast

God bless you. Below are all the Scriptures written out and my notes so you can follow along with the podcast "In Jesus' Name." I'm still seeking spiritual matters and learning how to edify the church. God does nothing on our behalf without going through Jesus Christ. That's why we will look at the topic of "In Jesus' Name." We will conclude with the thought that we do have the mind of Christ. It is Christ is in us, It is Christ behind all our five senses so that we can know the mind of Christ.

John 14:3 - 15 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Jesus does nothing apart from God. He always does God's will. If you've seen Jesus, you've seen what God is like. If we ask anything in his name, he will do it.

Matthew 28:18 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth."

God gave the all power to him.

Hebrews 2:8 "Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him."

Colossians 1:18 – 20 "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven."

Jesus Christ is the head of the body, the church. He's our Lord and Savior.

1 Corinthians 15:27 – 28 "For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all."

Jesus is the head of everything but one exception, God. God and Jesus Christ work together. Jesus is called second in command.

1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

Let's look at what Jesus Christ is doing. We ask in his name.

John 15:16 "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."

John 16:23 – 24 "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. 24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."

So again, we ask in His name.

John 14:13 – 14 "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."

    Jesus carries it out.

John 14:12 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

Acts 1:1 "The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,"

During the gospel period, Jesus began to do and to teach. After the day of Pentecost, Jesus continued to do and to teach.

Acts 4:24 – 31 "And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: 25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? 26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. 27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, 28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. 29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, 30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. 31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness."

Acts 4:33 "And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all."

Acts 5:12 "And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch."

Mark 16:19 – 20 "So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen."

Who works with them? Jesus Christ was. He is still working with us.

Acts 9:32 - 34 "And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda. 33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy. 34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately."

Who does the healing? Does God, Jesus Christ, the person who needs the healing, or the person doing the ministering? Yes, all of them. We all work together. You could say it another way: Who's doing the believing? The person who needs the healing, and the person doing the ministering. Everybody works together. God and Jesus Christ already believe. If God says it, he'll do it. Jesus Christ always does the will of God. They work togther.

Galatians 1:1 "Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)"

They always work together God gives the directions. Jesus Christ carries them out.

1 Thessalonians 3:11 "Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you."

John 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Jesus has many things to say to us, and he will say them to us. He will share with us what we need to know when we need to know it, and how to accomplish what we need to accomplish.

We will be able to learn the Deep things of God as we continue to read and study God's Word. As we learn some things, God can bring deeper meaning and understanding to us as we continue in God's Word and operating the manifestations.

Colossians 2:2 – 3 "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

We have access to all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. We are not done being able to learn and teach as we learn.

1 Corinthians 2:16 "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."

We have Christ within us, behind all our five senses. As much as the blood is in every cell of our body, so is the Christ within us. We can get information from the Christ within us as we search, ask questions, and teach others.

    May God bless you Abundantly!
