    The Mighty VH Podcast

This ain’t yer mom’s podcast. This is a high-voltage, back-alley, nitro-burning, chrome-plated oral history of the loudest, proudest, most uncontainable rock band ever to plug in and blow the doors clean off the building.
Every episode, your hosts Tommy London & Tor kick open the vault, flash a fake backstage pass and stroll past the velvet rope like they own the place. Albums get peeled apart track by track. Tours get relived night by night, bruise by bruise. Legends get mythologized, demystified, and then mythologized again.
The Mighty VH Podcast is where the riffs sweat, the stories stretch, and the truth comes flying in sideways wearing ass-less chaps.
You want news and rumors? We tell you what’s real, what’s noise, and what’s pure beautiful nonsense, with a wink and a raised eyebrow.
This is the place where genius gets examined, ego gets celebrated, and excess gets its rightful crown. Where guitars talk, drums thunder, and the spirit of rock and roll doesn’t politely knock, it jumps the fence, cannonballs the pool, and steals your girlfriend’s attention span.

Ep: 023 Ranking The Album Covers Oct 09, 2026
    Show notes

Tommy and Tor take on the entire Van Halen catalog, breaking down and ranking every album cover from the legendary 1978 debut all the way through Tokyo Dome Live in Concert.

Episode 023 explores the artwork, photography, concepts and stories behind the covers that helped define Van Halen's visual identity across nearly four decades. From the classic David Lee Roth era and some of the most recognizable album covers in rock history, through the Sammy Hagar years and a completely different chapter in the band's image, no era is left out.

Tommy and Tor also get into the brief and ill-fated Van Halen III era with Gary Cherone, along with the band's eventual reunion with Roth and the artwork that accompanied Van Halen's final chapters.

Some covers became as iconic as the albums themselves. Others have been debated by fans for decades. And then there are a few that leave everyone wondering exactly what they were thinking.

Which covers perfectly captured Van Halen at that moment in time? Which ones haven't aged quite as well? Which are underrated? And which Van Halen album cover ultimately takes the top spot?

Every cover. Every era. One final ranking.

This is a big one. Let the arguments begin.

Ep: 018 A VH Round Table with Don Jamieson & Keith Roth Sep 04, 2026
    Show notes

Plenty of legendary bands have changed lead singers. Some survived, some became even bigger, and others were never quite the same. But decades later, few of those changes continue to generate headlines, arguments and passionate reactions the way Van Halen’s still does.

For the first-ever Mighty VH Round Table, Tommy and Tor are joined by comedian Don Jamieson and SiriusXM’s Keith Roth to ask a different kind of question about the great David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar debate: Why are we still even talking about it?

Forty years after Hagar joined Van Halen, what is it about this particular change that continues to divide fans and make news? Why has Roth vs. Hagar remained part of the conversation when singer changes in so many other major bands have long since become simply part of their history?

Don, Keith, Tommy and Tor dig into what made Van Halen’s situation different, from the enormous personalities and success of both eras to everything that happened before, during and after the change.

This isn’t about deciding who was better. It’s about why, 40 years later, people still feel the need to pick a side.

Welcome to the VH Round Table.

Ep: 017 The What If Episode Aug 28, 2026
    Show notes

What if Sammy Hagar turned down the offer to join Van Halen? What if Van Halen fully reunited in 1996? What if the band never recorded “Jump?”

In this episode of The Mighty VH Podcast, Tommy and Tor head into the alternate universe of Van Halen history and ask some of the biggest “What If?” questions from throughout the band’s legendary career.

From lineup changes and missed opportunities to songs, albums and decisions that could have completely altered the course of the band, they explore how one different choice or one different moment might have rewritten Van Halen history. Some scenarios are rooted in things that almost happened, while others are pure speculation, leading to plenty of debate over where each alternate path might have taken the band.

It’s Van Halen history as it happened and as it very easily might not have.

Along the way, they share the story behind the album’s iconic artwork, dig into Warner Bros.’ unusual decision to release just one single from a record that would go on to sell more than three million copies, and share a few fun facts that even die-hard Van Halen fans might not know.
