The Luke and Pete Show

Latest Episodes:

Deafened by an oil drum Mar 23, 2020

Show notes

Pete is back from his latest overseas sojourn and, let's be fair, he's walked right into the middle of an absolute shitshow. Soho is deserted, save for a few blokes wandering around taking photos of the deserted streets, and poor old Luke doesn't know when he's going to get to see his pal again next!

But, nevertheless, we press on regardless. Today, there's chat about online dates, a listener in Japan has found money on the floor, and a drunken couple have taken a bath in some beer. There's loads more besides, including Naked Gun, video games and stupid things we've done to impress girls.

Man eats phone Mar 19, 2020

Show notes

In this second episode of The Laura and Luke Show, Laura talks about what it's like living with an Australian man (spoiler: it appears to be pretty much *exactly* how you'd imagine), we find out what her parents really think of her, and there's a harrowing story about her mother encountering what she thought was a dead person on a flight.

We also spend quite a bit of time talking about how important it is to be domestically competent, and there's plenty of your stories as well.

A female voice Mar 16, 2020

Show notes

In the absence of Pete, Luke is joined by Laura Kirk of Stakhanov's Revisiting to discuss some tales in the life of Florida Man, why she likes going to the cinema alone and just what it's like living with an Andrew Flintoff obsession.

We also hear from some more listeners whose drunken shortcuts have gone awry, try to understand why cryptic crosswords are so hard and discover an entirely new type of beer situation that will probably leave you with a sore throat.

Do not insert the frozen potato slice Mar 12, 2020

Show notes

On this episode we’re discussing bull fighting, ‘dining & dashing’ and a problematic home remedy which utilises frozen sliced potatoes.

Also coming up, we’re reading some of your near death experiences, including a hazardous tale from a noughties trip to Malia and a man who, despite all the odds, survived a drunken encounter with a horse.

All that, and something about bath beers!

A digested pedometer Mar 09, 2020

Show notes

It’s the start of the week which means a brand new episode of the Luke and Pete Show.

On today’s show, we’re talking about the coronavirus, crufts and a pig who managed to set fire to a farm in North Yorkshire, using nothing but feces and a digested pedometer.

Also on the show, Pete’s taken a trip to Southampton, Mel Brooks has a thing or two to say about The One Show and we’re considering whether or not to test the waters with explosive lithium batteries and eating uranium.

Plus we’re catching up with some of your ‘Florida man’ headlines.

It’s jam packed! Get in touch at hello@lukeandpeteshow.com

Return of the Hobgoblin Mar 05, 2020

Show notes

Back in April of 2009, three men were unceremoniously ejected from their London-based radio show and asked to never return.

Something they'd said on the airwaves? Possibly.

Or was 'the man' worried about the unwavering grassroots support (dare we say love) for the trio amongst the swell of G20 protesters that stamped past their window that spring morning? We may never know. But they're back for one last half hour of shouting and awful language.

The ex-Xfm breakfast show Mar 02, 2020

Show notes

Not sure where to start with this one to be honest.

If you were unlucky enough to experience the Alex Zane breakfast show between 2007 and 2009 you'll probably be on nodding terms with this nonsense, but for everyone else - Luke is away this week so it was Pete's turn to bring in some buddies.

Episode 199.98: A grandad, a spade and an innocent heron Feb 20, 2020

Show notes

It’s Thursday, which means a brand new episode of The Luke & Pete Show. Luke’s bought a new video game and Pete’s unimpressed by his choice. Meanwhile, Pete enlightens us with some rather alarming age gaps in Disney characters’ relationships.

Elsewhere, there’s some chat about a Lou Reed playlist, a new type of beer enters the conversation, and we run the rule over reality television.

We’re also talking about weird things you’ve found in your gardens, and there’s a particularly shocking story involving a grandad, a spade and an innocent heron. You probably know where that’s going...
