After a phenomenal season, the Texas Women's Basketball team ran into the buzz saw that was the UCLA Bruins -- a team they actually beat earlier in the season. However, UCLA's dominant defense proved to be too much for Texas and their stars, leaving them a game shy of the championship.

We also dive in on the Texas Relays and the upcoming rivalry games for the baseball and softball teams.

April 1, 2026 - Texas WBB headed to the Final Four Apr 01, 2026
    Show notes

The Texas Women are back in the final weekend of the tournament, hoping to get over the hump that has kept Vic Scahefer from the Promised Land. They have been dominant through the first two weeks, but will face one of the most stacked teams in the country in the semifinal round, the UCLA Bruins.

The Texas men didn't make it out of the second weekend, but went out with a competitive game and changed the narrative on a season that frustrated some.

March 24, 2026 - Texas Men and Women Still Dancing Mar 24, 2026
    Show notes

The Texas Longhorns are one of just four schools with both the men's and women's team represented in the Sweet 16, although they took different paths to get there.

The men needed a buzzer-beater in the First Four, before picking up two decisive wins over BYU and Gonzaga to advance to the second weekend of the tournament. Now they face a Purdue squad with a pair of double-digit wins under its belt in the opening weekend.

Conversely, the Texas women faced no trouble in the first round, propelled by the excellence of Madi Booker and Rori Harmon. They held serve at Moody Center and now travel to Fort Worth to close out the regional as the top seed.

March 17, 2026: Texas going dancing, kinda Mar 17, 2026
    Show notes

The Texas Longhorns men's basketball team managed to find its way into the NCAA Tournament, but they still need to win a game to find its way into the field of 64. They will face off against the NC State Wolfpack, a team they beat at the start of the season in the Maui Invitational. Can they depend on the offense they had early in the season, or will they crash out in the First Four?

Conversely, the Texas women locked up a No. 1 seed and actually await the winner of a First Four matchup. They have an opportunity to play the first two weeks of the tournament in the state of Texas, hosting the first weekend and then travelling to Fort Worth for the second set of games.

While already seemingly in the NCAA Tournament, the Longhorns have an opportunity to win 10 conference games for the first time since the 2022-23 season and close out strong as they approach tournament time.

    February 17, 2026 - Baseball takes the field Feb 17, 2026
    Show notes

The No. 3 Texas Longhorns have high hopes for this year after overachieving for much of 2025, then seeing their season end in a frustrating manner.

With a loaded roster and, hopefully, a pitching staff they can count on through the season, the Longhorns have a team that could compete for a national championship.

    February 10, 2026 - Basketball finding a rhythm Feb 10, 2026
    Show notes

After a rocky start to the season, the Texas men's basketball team has won three consecutive conference games and is seemingly building momentum for the back half of the season. Can they keep this up and turn it into a tournament berth or is this just proof of concept for the future under Sean Miller?

The ladies got their revenge game against LSU and a hard-fought win over Kentucky, two of their four-consecutive games against ranked teams. Can they keep the momentum going down the stretch?
