Topics include the squandering of Rod Stewart’s God-given gifts, the squandering of Steve Miller’s killer pop instincts, color Kubrick movies in black and white, the firing of Dewey Cole, booze hounds, useless hot sauces, sitting next to Udo Kier, Ben’s man love for Justin Hawkins, Ryan’s shower fantasies, and Gabe says “Fuck this”. This might be the best Road Report ever, but to paraphrase Billy Crudup in “Almost Famous” — we may have been in too truthful a mood.

Poor Mike Alonso. He’s played drums in a ton of bands (including Flogging Molly, Electric Six and Five Horse Johnson), was on a first name basis with Dio, saw “Dawn Of The Dead” IN THE THEATER on its original release, and has an encyclopedic knowledge of every bootleg from Black Sabbath to CCR —but even with all of THAT— the guy still thinks he’s not terribly interesting and doesn’t understand why we’d ask him to be on the podcast. Typical Mike. Join us as we disabuse him of that notion. Also: Ben is trapped in a hoary netherworld, the Dahmer series is some sick shit, and we talk a lot about Black Sabbath. Seriously. There is a LOT of Black Sabbath-y stuff on this episode. Halloween approaches!

He just fucking makes you want to be better. At least that’s what he did for us, and we couldn’t be more honored to have him on the show. On this episode we talk to Kevin about 7 Seconds (duh), building a scene in Reno, Cheech & Chong & The Dils, recording THE CREW, internet trolls vs. skinheads, Riotfest, sad band break-ups, triumphant band returns, touring with Circle Jerks and Negative Approach, playing Gabe’s birthday party, and designing the first Local H logo.
