Why (and How) Should Stories End? w/ Brent Weeks Jun 24, 2021

Show notes

SPOILER ALERT. We talk about the ending of Harry Potter, but that's over a decade old. So maybe this note is unnecessary. But you have it anyway.

Brent Weeks knows a thing or two about ending a story. So when Craig wanted to do an episode all about endings -- why must stories end? what makes a good ending? do authors owe readers an ending? -- it was a pretty easy call to ask Brent to join in.

When does a book go from HOMAGE to THEFT? Jun 03, 2021

Show notes

Craig is flying solo again today (don't worry, we're recording a regular episode this weekend), and the topic at hand is literary homage vs outright theft. Where is the line? How should we go about thinking about books that some say are TOO directly tied to their inspirations?

Show notes

Craig, Ryan, and Kyle welcome back Adam Sherlock from Deep Dive Film School to have a very serio-- sorry, a completely ridiculous discussion of the new Mortal Kombat reboot and video game movies generally.
