They will use historic figures to showcase how leading in uncertainty requires both flexibility and strength in order to use cardinal virtues and character strengths to lead an organization without having a clear idea or picture of the outcome.

In this podcast, Dr. Connelly and Dr. Johstono will discuss the transition from phase one to phase two and assessing self and organizations. They will discuss the purpose of needing to understand one's self to be able to lead one's self and organization. They also look at understanding one's reality in order to be able to react to situations in order to assess and lead. They will examine this by looking at Aristotle and Machiavelli as opposing forces when looking at prudence and leading.

2. What are Ethics? Aug 01, 2019

In this podcast hosts, Dr. Connelly and Dr. Johstono will discuss ethics in today's organizations. They will look at bridging the connections between morality and ethics to explain how the individual is able to align their ethics with that of their organization without putting either at odds. They will look at philosophers such as Machiavelli and Hobbs to show that removing the link between politics/law and morality is something that is hazardous for the individual. They will also look to the Air Force core values and show how ethics are intertwined. The ultimate goal of this discussion is to show how using ethical/moral decisions will allow the organization and the individual to operate in a sense of harmony to ensure ethical ends which protect from moral hazard.

All three will discuss the need for personal growth and how exploiting knowledge from MBTI will help grow us as leaders. The podcast will focus on how knowing your personality helps to avoid negative natural tendencies that we as individuals have. The podcast will touch on natural tendencies and how knowing the personality types around you will make a better leader and help foster teamwork within an organization.
