    202. Artificial Intelligence and Ministry Dec 04, 2023
    Show notes

    Summary:

Josh Denhart interviews Parker Loy, co-pastor of First Assembly of God in North Little Rock, who is at the forefront of using artificial intelligence (AI) in ministry. They discuss the neutral nature of technology, the potential pitfalls and advantages of using AI in ministry, and the importance of personalization in ministry. Parker shares how AI can enhance and expedite ministry processes, such as feedback, customer relations, sermon preparation, and discipleship material creation. He emphasizes the need to approach AI as a tool and not rely solely on it for the entire ministry process.

    Key Takeaways:

    • AI can be a valuable tool in sermon preparation and presentation, but it should not replace the active study and personal revelation that comes from wrestling with God.
    • Technology, including AI, can enhance and expedite ministry processes such as feedback, customer relations, sermon preparation, and discipleship material creation.
    • AI has the potential to personalize ministry and provide tailored resources and support to individuals in need.
    • It is important to approach AI as a tool and not rely solely on it for the entire ministry process.

    Quotes:

    • "Technology is neutral. It's the human being that brings forth whether it's used for good or used for evil." - Josh Denhart
    • "The danger of AI is letting it do the whole piece of the process of sermon prep. We can't go from prompt to preach." - Parker Loy

#198 – Failure in ministry is inevitable. We have all had moments where we’ve blown it, dropped the ball, and missed the mark. In today’s episode of the podcast we sit down with our friend Brian Dollar to discuss his new book “I Blew It” and how failure plays a role in our spiritual growth, and the growth in us as leaders. You will never meet a leader who hasn’t made a mistake. 194. Ministry Multiplication (Part 5 of 5) Oct 09, 2023
    Show notes

#194 – As we close out this 5 part series on ministry multiplication, we take a look at Paul and how he set the stage for ministry multiplication within the early church and beyond. Throughout this series we’ve been able to see how ministry multiplication has been a key piece of wisdom passed on throughout the entire narrative of scripture, which begs the question - what does ministry multiplication look like in your context? It’s important to think about because like we’ve been saying; the success of your ministry is not about what you do, but what would happen if you never came back. The Kingdom depends on it - your ministry cannot end with you!

    193. Ministry Multiplication (Part 4 of 5) Oct 02, 2023
    Show notes

#193 – Does your ministry have the structure to grow at the rate of your dreams and prayers? The early church grew at such a rate it quickly realized it didn’t have the infrastructure to keep up. Rather than double down and work harder, the apostles gathered their people around and multiplied themselves by giving away ministry in a way that hadn’t been done before. When faced with a problem, they multiplied themselves in order to solve those problems - and in the same way, we can notice the problem areas of our ministry and multiply ourselves in a way that not only fixes the problem, but helps that area thrive.

In this 5-part series, we will be walking through key moments throughout the biblical narrative that highlight the importance of multiplying yourself and building up leaders to do the work of the ministry.
