We have arrived now at one of my favorite items to do while bringing a product to market, it is a very challenging road and many people are just not cutout to be a product developer. You have finally made it to the completion of the Road Map to Success. If your following along in sequence it has been a long road ad I am sure you questioned the steps and there sequence several times but as we are now on ourfinal item in the RMS we see the reasoning behind the order we have taken. If this is your first time reading through the book and your are about to begin the journey of bringing you product to market well then congratulations and lets get this going.So in this final step we will talk about how to price your product for retailers, wholesalers and for anyone whom is going to sell your product for you. Armed with the information we accumulated in the previous step we have a pretty good idea what the overall net cost per unit is and with that information we can set a base wholesale and retail price. Lets explain the difference between the two.

There are many more questions to think about when establishing the existence of a problem or need for something that has not been created before. One of the most important questions from the list #6 “why do you think this problem has not been solved” this is a major question to answer be truthful withy ourself remembering this is the point of discovery the place where you begin to really think about the question, Is there really a problem here or is there a way to do this task better? I am certainly not trying to talk you out of moving forward to begin the Solution phase but I want you to make sure there exists a problem or need on a large enough scale before you place any time or money into the next steps.

OK, well after some great work on the business side of our product we have returned to the finalizedversion of your Tech-Pak and ultimately toward being ready to manufacture your product when wereceive an order. Lets talk a little about what we should supply the factory to make certain they will have as much information as possible to complete everything correctly.

We come now to one of the most miss-understood items ever to be placed within the Invention process,you thought about this step ever since the first time your idea popped into your head, your first thoughtwas the Invention and most likely the next thought was that you needed a Patent before you spoke withanyone. We are going to spend a lot of time on this section, with that I am hoping that you are readingthis before you have filed for your Patent, it is certainly ok if you have already either received or filedthese steps will of course still work for you but I am hoping I caught you prior to filing. I will first mentionthat I am not by any means a Patent Attorney and I would strongly suggest you speak with a patentattorney whom can really help protect you if/when your product hits it big time. But don’t go visit themuntil reading my little section here about patents and how when to file.
