Hi and welcome to episode 37 of the Kit & Krysta Podcast! Can you believe it's already the 5 year anniversary of Super Mario Odyssey? Time sure flies. Wood and Bob from Nontendo were also gracious enough to be on this episode of our podcast where we determine the scariest video game character using our very scientific bracket. We also share a handful of news, talk about the games we are playing (a lot of Mario + Rabbids) and of course answer questions from our wonderful Patreon subscribers. It's another full show so let's go!

30: Our Wild Week with Hideki Kamiya LIVE from PAX West 2022 Sep 07, 2022

Show notes

Hi, welcome to Episode 30 of the Kit & Krysta Podcast. We can't believe we're already at this incredible milestone and to do it at a live show with some of you in person was absolutely amazing. This week we share a never before heard story about a wild week we spent with Hideki Kamiya from Platinum Games at a PAX West many years ago. We also answer some of your questions live. It was a great time and thanks to everyone show came out.
0:00 - It's live so let's go
5:25 - Nintendo Storytime - our week with Kamiya-san
25:38 - Answering live questions from our amazing PAX audience. Here are the questions asked, in case you have any trouble hearing them!
1. What are your thoughts on the PlayStation Vita?
2. Being a Nintendo personality probably wasn't in your job description. At what point did you realize that being an internet personality was part of your job, and did you ever meet any resistance to that?
3. Would you like to see StreetPass be incorporated into future Nintendo hardware?
4. Kit, why don't you like Sonic games?
5. When the Nintendo Switch OLED trailer was taken down you explained to us why we shouldn't get our hopes up for a new announcement. What are some signs that might indicate an announcement actually is coming?
6. Do you have any insight on how Xenoblade went from being a niche series to a hot mainstay on the Switch?
7. (Before this question there is a long anecdote about using a PlayStation Vita for wedding photography). The Switch has been around for five years now and the competition is starting to heat up. What can Nintendo do to remain competitive?
8. If you could have a Zelda movie or TV show, what would you like the story to be based around?
9. Would you rather fight three monkeys or a bear?
10. I really like my Wii U and have a lot of great memories from my time with that system. Do you have any stories from the early days of the Wii U?
11. You have talked about how when you worked at Nintendo you knew about news before it was announced. Now that you aren't at Nintendo, what announcement has made you the most surprised or excited?
12. Will you be making more videos in Animal Crossing?
13. What Pokemon Scarlet/Violet starter will be you choosing and who do you want on your team?
14. Which Animal Crossing villager is your favorite?
15. What are your thoughts on Nintendo's relationship with the competitive Smash community?
16. It must be a shock coming from the built-in audience of Nintendo channels to building your own. As a content creator myself, how do you keep your spirits up navigating this change?
