Hello and welcome to episode 229 of the Kit & Krysta Podcast! This week we want to talk about what we want out of the new Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Nintendo teased us with a very small amount of information in the last Nintendo Direct and all it did was raise more questions about what this game actually is. Also in this episode, we react to news about Takashi Tezuka maybe NOT retiring and Nintendo's delay on their new development building. We also dive deeper into the Splatoon Raiders Nintendo Direct. We've been playing a ton of Star Fox and have some thoughts and we reveal the next spoilercast game coming in July. All this and much more is coming right up!

With the new Star Fox game coming to Switch 2, we just had to rank every Star Fox game and also ask ourselves where we think Star Fox on Switch 2 will fall within these rankings. Also in this episode, we're playing some new games including one that reminds us so much of classic Zelda and Chrono Trigger. We're also answering some questions from our wonderful Patreon community about a curious survey Nintendo sent out recently. All this and much more is coming right up!

Star Fox Week continues and today we're joined by a very special guest - Eduardo Hulshof who was the level design director on Starlink: Battle for Atlas. This was such a cool game from Ubisoft that had the most incredible Star Fox integration on Nintendo Switch. The story of how this all came to be is fascinating and Ed is here to tell us all about it. Be sure to come back tomorrow for more Star Fox goodness as Star Fox week continues!

Why Most Nintendo Games Aren’t Made by Nintendo Anymore Jun 17, 2026

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Hi! It's very interesting when we dig into all the Nintendo Switch 2 games that are published by Nintendo and then realize that they aren't actually developed by Nintendo. We checked, and more than half the games on Switch 2 are actually made by partner studios and not in-house by Nintendo developers. This isn't really a bad thing since the output of games from Nintendo is incredible but it does make us wonder, what ARE the in-house teams working on and when are we going to see something from them? And who the heck is developing the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2? What do you think? Is this an issue for you?

Wow! What a fun couple of weeks while we experienced the big June video game announcement season - we've dubbed it fake E3 because it does feel like the spirit of E3 is living on. With showcases from Nintendo (Nintendo Direct), Xbox (Xbox Games Showcase) and Sony (State of Play) and big announcements in Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest stream. We also played so many newly announced games at the Summer Game Fest Play Days. Now that it's all wrapped up, we want to talk about the winners and losers. Who came out on top? What do you think?
