Hello and welcome to episode 182 of the Kit & Krysta Podcast! We can't believe it's been two months since the Switch 2 launched and it definitely feels long and short at the same time. We're going to check in on how we're feeling about the system and if we are optimistic about the future. We also have the triumphant return of Nintendo Storytime this week with an interesting story about the time a natural disaster delayed a Nintendo Direct and all the drama that happened around it. We also react to Nintendo's recent price hikes and their survey on physical games in our news segment and we're playing a TON of new games since we both beat Donkey Kong Bananza. We wrap it all up with some amazing questions from our Patreon subscribers. All this and much more is coming right up!
0:00 - Happy two month birthday to Switch 2!
    9:23 - Our Switch 2 check-in two months later
40:09 - Nintendo storytime - the unprecendented Nintendo Direct delay
55:13 - Games We're Playing (Death Stranding 2, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, Adventures of Elliot demo)
1:24:33 - News news news (Nintendo price hikes, physical games survey, Octopath Traveler 0)

Hi, we're here today with a what will probably be a controversial opinion about Kirby Air Riders. Nintendo is definitely dealing with some challenges around getting launch dates settled for the rest of the announced 2025 Switch 2 games but where does that leave Kirby Air Riders? Is this game really coming out in 2025 and more importantly, does Nintendo feel like HAS to come out in 2025? We talk about how it works inside Nintendo when they make these kinds of decisions. What do you think? If this game is delayed, will you be devastated?

Why Don't These Huge 2025 Switch 2 Games Have Release Dates Yet? Aug 01, 2025

Greetings! We've been thinking a lot about the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase that ran yesterday. We think it's very unusual that we're now in August and there are still five major Switch 2 games (Metroid Prime 4, Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, Kirby Air Riders, Elden Ring and Final Fantasy 7 Remake) that are supposedly releasing this year, but somehow don't have a single release date between them. Based on our experience of actually working at Nintendo, this is something they are probably pretty concerned about and trying to get a handle on as soon as possible. Let's talk about what's going on, why it's happening, and what the scenarios are for what could happen from here.

We worked closely with Motokura-san on Super Mario Odyssey while we were at Nintendo and have some fun stories to share about him. Most importantly, we want to dig into him a bit more as a person because we think that will give us a good indication of what to expect from Donkey Kong Bananza.
