Dukes Review: It’s been nearly 6 months since the last episode of Season 6 aired, and in just 4 and a half months….it’ll all be over. The final season of the most beloved car show ever is about to begin, and while the original mission of Gy Waldron to have a non family friendly booze hustlin' prostitute lovin' inbred family mission was lost long ago, the final season is one we all have to look on with a grain of salt. The show that gave us so much joy, happiness, costly hobbies, costly careers…..is in it’s final launch. There’s plenty of bad this season (and I’m talking about more than the miniature cars being used for stunts) but there’s some good too! And luckily for us, the person to direct it knew just a little something about the fans of the show. Thomas Steven Wopat presents the birth of the General Lee and - whether he meant to or not - creates the canon of the entire series by answering what every little boy needed to know most.

Why are the doors welded shut? It’s here. What’s under the hood of the General? It’s here. Why is the General orange, with a rebel flag on the roof, a dixie horn under the hood, and why is it named General Lee? It’s here. More importantly, how does an old dead wreck from a junkyard become able to fly leaps and bounds, win every race, catch every bad guy, win every girl for the Duke Boys, respond to it’s name on command, be so much of a family member it gets it’s own birthday cake, and become the most magical car in the history of the known universe and the most famous car in the world? It’s here!

K&F Show #210: Our 2021 Christmas Show! Movie Review: Tim Allen’s “The Santa Claus” Dec 15, 2021

Movie Review: Just when you thought you had heard every Santa origin possible….this is the one where they kill him, and could completely care less. No one is even sad. And apparently, we shouldn’t be either! Tim Allen goes on a movie tear in the 1990’s that’ll melt your bank account. But this one is a Christmas classic about a divorcee father that loves his kid, makes something of himself beyond just that of a wisecracking Ford Taurus SHO driver, and a North Pole that’s filled with elves played by children. Yessir, Tim Allen may just be everyone’s favorite Santa too…until he falls off a roof and is forgotten forever.

K&F Show #209: Christmas is a Time for Miniature Stunts (Barf); Dukes of Hazzard S6E22 Review “Cooter’s Confession” Dec 08, 2021

Dukes Review: As someone once said, no good deed goes unpunished. What started as a series known for its unbelievable car jumps and stunts....has just become a cost cutting mid 1980's cash cow destined for cancellation. This episode, the very last one of Season 6, features the beginning of the end. Miniatures. Miniature buildings. Miniatures cars. Miniature jumps. No wonder they stuck this episode on a Saturday night when they thought no one was looking. It's a shame too, because the episode itself is honestly pretty good plot, driving stunts, and features a great guest actor (Hal Williams, 227). Barf. It had to happen sometime. Christmas is ruined.

Dukes Review: We're not going to lie, Season 6 is nearly to a close and it's starting to get weird. There's a fake fortune teller played by the lady from Policy Academy. There's a little person (and they actually don't say "midget," thankfully). Also, Bo's not in this episode. There's also a 68 Charger with a REALLY terrible 69 taillight conversion. This friends, is a really odd episode with tons of sub plots, a Dodge van, and no new General Lee jumps. That's the bad news. The good news is that Corndog's book had a ton of details on this episode and we added a lot to our list!

Dukes Review: I’ve got good news and bad news for this one. Here’s the good news. My high school Nova returns and you are going to see a sweet jump of the General - from a very important location. The Hazzard impound yard….You’ll see Rosco cars there, bad guys cars you recognize, my high school Nova….and what’s this? A non General Lee unconverted white 68 Charger (likely a future-to-be General Lee). That’s the good news. The bad news is….I think the first stunt-miniature shot might be in this episode. It’s not of a car though.

    K&F Show #206: David Freiburger! Nov 10, 2021

FEATURE INTERVIEW with DAVID FREIBURGER: We're as shocked as you are. Five-and-a-half years after launching this show with Mike Finnegan we have finally landed his (one time) boss, mentor, adventurer, and Roadkillinginly cool buddy David Freiburger! David has become a staple in the automotive media landscape having spent 20-plus years in print before he ever came to YouTube and Television. He just recently penned his final piece for the February 2022 edition Hot Rod Magazine and last year filmed 61 individual episodes for various shows on the Motor Trend platform (Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, Engine Masters, etc.).

In this discussion you'll learn what we all really wanted to know about living life in the fast lane, working a seemingly endless schedule, and never getting the chance to completely finish any project. Like us, David grew up believing that 1968 and '69 Chargers were it when it came to the all invulnerable muscle car, as powerful as it is cool looking, as desirable to others as it faithful to its owner.

He enjoyed the Chargers of The Dukes of Hazzard (and has stories to tell), Dirty Marty Crazy Larry, and others, but his favorite is the one that he and Finnegan built together: General Mayhem. If you've followed that car over the years you know it has gone from a motorhome powered drifting underdog to a Hellcat powered drag car. David loved the first iteration of it and he's just recently put it back to it's original glory.

Dukes Review: There’s a plot. Too much plot, some good shots of the General, a cool jump or two…..and then I forget. The IMDB guy got it mostly right. Daisy gets confused by a hypochondriac mobster for being a nurse because she was in a church play that required extra short nurse outfits. And she switched her book of lines for the play with his book of illegal business and ill gottenness. So there’s that. The General Lee had carbon buildup, which is dumb, backfired, and then the whole episode is dealing with said hypochondriac. Luckily, Corndog found a detail on a GL with a 273 small block and nitrous!

Dukes Review: Hey great. Just what i want to talk about this week. Death, funerals, and graves. Welp, here goes….here’s the good news. There’s a jump and a cool slide of the General that almost hits the camera guy. Here’s the bad news. There’s no more good news. Bo isn’t in this episode, Dewey Hogg who we’ve never heard of is the bad guy - who I am assuming was only here because they couldn’t get Jeff Altman to play Hughie, and it gets even too cartoony for me. And I like dumb. 4 Corndogs.

This is Rob Kibbe writing. By now you have all heard that my dad Dallas passed away. As such, please listen in to a special edition of the KF show complete with a rebroadcast of Episode 132 whee we reviewed the movie "A Christmas Story." It was one of my dad's very favorites and we played it for him the night before he died. It turns out in our review we discovered that it's really a movie about fathers and sons just as much as it is about Christmas. Corndog loves this era of cars and culture, so there's plenty to enjoy there as well. Thank you all for listening and loving us. My dad loved listening most.

Dukes Review: This is the show that convinced you that you can spy on any secret conversation simply by hiding under a desk. I hid under my parents bed once for an hour to hear what I was getting for Christmas…...but they never left immediately after spilling the beans like they do on TV and I eventually had to crawl out and got caught.

Anyway, this is part of the "Dukes Infiltrate the Mob" episode by racing in NASCAR, in an Oldsmobile, that’s supposed to be a Chevy, that someone wants to replicate out of a Buick. Solid story telling, vintage NASCAR, good stunts…….that’s fine. The introduction of glamping is here, and that's nice. There’s not enough General Lee in this episode of course, but this the episode that the PC culture should watch….because the Duke that wins the NASCAR race - in one try - is Daisy. And in a true sign of playing both sides of the aisle, the Dukes get another phone call from the President of the Unites States. Now they've had a call from a Republican (Reagan) and a Democrat (Carter). Good episode. More General Lee, please. 6 Corndogs.
